Benzoin is from Sumatra and Java.
Benzoin Resin is a natural gum resin from species of the Styrax tree, native to Southeast Asia. The resin is collected from cuts in the bark of the tree. When the Styrax is first cut the Benzoin is collected as a milky-white substance but as it is exposed to air and sunlight the resin solidifies.
Benzoin Resin is used for burning on Charcoal disks, as an aromatic room perfume for enhancing mood and atmosphere.
