Herbal Incense Equipment
At Indigo herbs we sell all of the equipment you will need for burning natural incense and incense resins except fire making equipment.
Burners
We sell 2 different types of burners; the smaller burner is made from brass and stands securely holding 1 lit charcoal disc (charcoal tablet), and the smoke from the incense whispers through the lid. The larger lotus burner is shaped like a flower and twists open, it carries 1 charcoal disk and the petals can be twisted shut to let the smoke plume out.
Charcoal disks
All of the Indigo Incense of Glastonbury is made with 100% pure unadulterated plant materials. As they are not mixed with a burning agent, each incense must be burnt on a charcoal disk. The charcoal disk should be lit and then left to burn until it has gone ash grey. The disk must be set down in an incense burner to protect the environment. Alternatively it can be set down in a bowl of sand. The disk must not be set down in an ashtray, plate, tile or directly onto a surface as the heat from the charcoal disk is intense and will burn the surface beneath an inappropriate receptacle. Hot charcoal disks do create a dangerous hazard, so they must be handled with absolute care. Keep well out of reach of babies and children, and be conscious of your hot charcoal as you would a hot burning fire.
To blend your incenses together you will need a pestle and mortar for grinding. The different incense ingredients can be blended together as powders. Even when burning an incense on its own it is good to grind it down into a powder. This creates a lighter smoke whisper and makes your supplies go further.
