Classic Glastonbury Winter
Moving on up?
Welcome back to our newsletter and apologies to those of you who wondered where we have been since September. We do try and send newsletters monthly but we have been really busy lately as we have moved! More on that below.
We have recently been contacted by media representatives looking for knowledgeable advocates of superfoods. They asked us if we would be interested in taking part in some radio interviews on the subject. We took this as a golden opportunity to raise awareness of superfoods like wheatgrass and spirulina in mainstream conciousness and agreed to take part. Yes, we’re going to shout about what we believe in, and we’re looking for like minded superfood eaters who might want to join us. Could this be you? More below.
Also, as always, you will find the latest discount code … just in time for some last minute christmas orders. Oh and by the way our last post dates are as follows.
For guaranteed pre-christmas deliver (subject to Royal Mail / Couriers) we must receive your order by midnight on the night of Monday 19th December. Or if you opt for guaranteed next day delivery Tuesday 20th. Orders received after this date will be sent as soon as humanly possible and may still arrive for christmas.
Have a Fantastic Festive Season and a Merry Midwinter from all of us here at Indigo Herbs.

This month only – no news!
No news is good news?
This month we will not be reporting any news.
We have decided to publish a news-free newsletter so we can
still provide you with your monthly discount code and remind you of the
health promoting, lifestyle enhancing products that we supply.
Click
here to visit our website.
We realise that publishing a newsletter without news is
unorthodox and flies in the face of marketing rationale … but that
suits us fine.
So scroll down to find your discount code and in between we
have filled the space with an interesting picture of a ladybird
parachuting.

Glastonbury Festival 2011 will be by far the largest festival of the performing arts in the British Isles. With about 138,000 members of the public and at least 40,000 ‘crew’ it really is a city in a field. Or rather a city in quite a few fields, as the event has outgrown Worthy Farm and now involves Mr Eavis’s neighbours. If you ever get the chance, go and have a look at it from up the tor. There’s nothing quite like it. Listening to the noise on Thursday night, before any of the sound systems are on, you can fully appreciate that there are 180,000 excited people in the countryside, and you’re one of them. This electric background noise sparks off spontaneous applause memes which can be heard rebounding around the festival site like audible Mexican waves. Magic.
But surviving Glastonbury Festival 2011 may be demanding. Even festival organiser Michael Eavis admits that “It can be battlefield conditions some of the time and you have to be nimble and quick witted”. As Glastonbury residents we have collectively attended the festival over 100 times and so we have put our heads together and written our Survival Guide to Glastonbury Festival. read this entry »

Salvia officinalis, Salvia sclarea, Salvia hispanica & Salvia alpine : All OK by Google!
Sage herb is a perfectly acceptable product and it’s official. Our disagreement with the world’s biggest internet company has finally come to a conclusion, and the conclusion is – we were right all along.
Six weeks ago, we received a stern letter from Google who mistakenly believed we were selling drugs because we had sold some common sage which is in the same botanical family as a popular legal high and therefore has a similar Latin name. Despite our best efforts to educate them they would not back down and to overcome the issue we removed the Latin name from our sage products. read this entry »

Online Herbal products and Superfoods retailer Indigo Herbs were left baffled recently when Internet search giant Google banned the sales of common Sage through its online transaction service ‘Google Checkout’.
“At first we thought they had just made a mistake” commented Steve McKewon, the owner of Indigo Herbs of Glastonbury, but several emails later Google had confirmed a ban of the sale of one of the world’s most popular culinary herbs through their checkout system.
The full article explaining the reason for the
Google common Sage mix up can be found by following the link, but we have put a snippet from some of the email exchanges between Google and Indigo Herbs below.

Summer, Sunrise, Seeds & Special Offers.
Welcome to our April newsletter, and what a bumper month it has been.
For all those who haven’t been in the UK during the past month, the weather has been unseasonably hot. And because we celebrate Easter based on the lunar calendar, this year’s bank holiday is almost as late as it can be, so the weather has just continued to warm up. Delicious.
This pattern is set to continue, and here at Indigo Herbs it’s all fingers crossed that it will be perfect again for this year’s Sunrise Celebration Festival, which we are sponsoring. More on this below. Also below, some information on our range of highly nutritious seeds which we have added to our website. And recipes and information about Mulberries – our special offer of the month. Finally, at the bottom, are details of our monthly discount code.
