It has taken nearly a year of development time, many hours of research and experimentation by our in house practitioner and the drinking of many cups of sample teas by all of us here at Indigo Herbs to produce our range of house blend loose leaf herbal teas. But it has certainly been worth the effort. Claire Kelly, our in house practitioner, has many years of experience in a wide range of natural healing techniques including the use of herbs and superfoods. “I wanted to create tea blends that would be both potent herbal remedies and delicious beverages” she said. Herbal remedies are sometimes more subtle than people initially imagine and do not all have an immediate effect. Taking regular herbal infusions is actually a lifestyle choice and should be regarded as a part of one’s diet. So do herbal teas have the curative, medicinal effects they are traditionally known for? “Well everyone is different and we certainly don’t claim that a specific herbal tea will have a specific effect on a specific person” Claire explains. “But many people in the west are are re-discovering the powerful health benefits that herbs can bring and we hope that our range of teas will help make these benefits accesible to a wider audience.” For those wanting to address a severe or chronic medical condition, we always recommend consulting a qualified naturopath or herbalist.
