How to make a Herbal Shot

The quickest, simplest and probably easiest way to ingest herbal powders is to make them up into a herbal shot. To do this you will need the herbal powders you want to take and some liquid. Approximately 50ml of liquid will be enough to make a shot of up to about 20 grams of herbal powder. Fruit juice is often preferred as it's sweetness can help balance any bitter herbal powders you may want to take.

  1. Add the quantity of herbal powders you want to eat into a small, tumbler sized glass.
  2. Add a little juice and mix into a paste.
  3. Add the remaining juice bit by bit, stirring constantly
  4. Drink!

How to make a Herbal Smoothie using Herbal Powders:

Drinking a superfood smoothie on a daily basis (or more often) is one of the best ways to dramatically improve your nutrition and include herbs in your lifestyle. Of course there are many possible recipe combinations. The base of the smoothie can be made from nut or seed milk, or fruit or vegetable juice. Additionally extra herb or superfood powders can be added to fortify the smoothie.

  1. First make your smoothie base, adding nuts, seeds, fruit etc.
  2. Add the exact amount of herbal powders to fortify.
  3. Blend everything up until the consistency is smooth.
  4. Adjust the taste, sweeten with banana, agave syrup, stevia or other natural sweeteners if the herbal taste is too bitter.
  5. Pour into a glass & enjoy!
What else you can do

Herbal Honey Butter:

Herbal powders can also be blended into butter and honey (such as coconut butter). This makes the herbal powder tasty and easy to digest. It can be preserved easily in the fridge and a teaspoon be taken three times per day. This is a great way to give herbs to children or those with a sensitive palate (The herbal honey/butter can be enjoyed on toast!).

Herbal Cordial:

Herbal powders are perfect for making cordial, syrup or wine. The powders dissolve easily in water and the phyto-chemicals in the herbal matter are extracted by soaking in liquid for an extended period of time.

Herbal Oil:

A botanical oil is also a great medium to soak up the beneficial properties of herbal powders. Make fortified salad dressings, or oils for skin and hair.

Food Preparation:

Herbs in their powered form makes the job of integrating beneficial herbs into our daily meals much easier. Powered herbs can be added to breads or cakes (like spices) and easily added to curries or soups. Ingesting herbs with our food is a great way to imbibe the benefits of the herbs.

More Information

Our Herbal powders are 100% pure and whole, the part of the plant that has been used traditionally for its beneficial properties is dried, separated, quality inspected and then milled into fine powder.

Our Herbal Powder extracts are slightly different; here the herbal matter is concentrated and their strength is denoted by a ratio. For example 1g of Clavohuasca 4:1 extract is equivalent to 4g of clavohuasca pure powder.

Our Standardized extracts are different again, through the manufacture process the active phyto-chemical is extracted and the final herbal powder has a “standardized” amount of this specific phytochemical in it. This standardized phyto-chemical content is denoted by a percentage. So for example 1g of Horny Goat Weed standardized extract (30% Icariin) contains 300 milligrams of Icariin.
