What are Essential Oils?
Essential oils are oils extracted from plants through distillation or cold-pressing. These oils contain the plants’ unique aromatic compounds, and therefore the plants’ scent and essence.
Essential oils are typically used in aromatherapy, a complementary therapy. Aromatherapy uses essential oils and other plant extracts to promote overall wellbeing through inhalation or absorption. Various methods include using a diffuser and applying it on your skin with a carrier oil.
Please note that essential oils should never be ingested. They are not safe to consume and can cause significant damage even if small amounts are ingested.
