Jane Placca has a BSc (Hons) in Herbal Medicine, and is a member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists. Jane’s professional training and experience in Lesotho and Brazil informs her work.
She studied in Preston at the University of Central Lancashire after many years of working with herbal medicines. Jane originally learned about herbal medicine from her maternal grandmother, who followed the herbal tradition and worked with local remedies like: Dandelion and Burdock, Valerian and Skullcap, Nettle and Liquorice. Jane’s professional training and experience informed her about safely using herbs that are available from across the world and can ease the stresses of our modern life.
Jane worked with traditional healers in Lesotho, where she helped to produce herbal tinctures and distribute Aloe Ferox skincare products. She has also worked in Brazil, in collaboration with researchers from UFSC. Jane is involved in community gardening with organic food projects and holds clinics in Hulme at Kath Locke centre and Zion community health project.
She is a qualified Chen Tai Chi teacher and is currently exploring Dru yoga practice at Manchester University.
