Siobhan Pestano - Zoopharmacognosist

Siobhan Pestano is a fully-qualified and insured zoopharmacognosist - an animal wellness consultant who facilitates animal self-medication using natural medicinal plant extracts.  Her main client base is dogs, cats and horses.  She is based in Langport, and mainly covers Somerset and Dorset but can travel further.   Animals are usually visited in their home environment as this is more beneficial for them, whether the issue appears to be physical or behavioural.

Her services are not a substitute for veterinary care, clients should always seek veterinary advice first.  Siobhan also works with veterinary referrals.   
This type of therapy can be incredibly helpful where:

• animals have persistent issues that are not responding to conventional treatment
• there is historic trauma (accidents / abandonment / abuse)
• for natural management of long-term issues (such as arthritis)
• used preventatively to optimise wellbeing.

In addition to private clients, she will support rescue homes with particularly difficult cases whenever her diary allows. (details on website).  

As zoopharmacognosy - both as an innate animal behaviour and as a wellness protocol for the animals in our care - is still not very well known or understood, Siobhan also welcomes requests for workshops, public talks and interviews to help increase awareness for this amazing natural wellness approach.
