Emma's Amazingly Tasty Healthy Brownie recipe are just what one needs for afternoon tea. They’re gooey and filling which is just what you might need when feeling ultra-peckish a few hours after lunch. Not only are these healthy but also quick and easy to make; you don’t need a high powered food processor and you won’t suffer from a sugar crash just before dinner. With the added nutrients and phytochemicals from the Acai and Beetroot powders these brownies bring extra bounce and fortitude to your day. Enjoy.

  • Scales
  • Food Processor/Blender
  • Baking Tray
  • Oven
  • Knife

Method
  1. Pre-heat oven to 170°C (with fan) or gas mark 5
  2. Place the Bananas into a food processor and blend the Bananas into a purée
  3. Add the Acai, Beetroot and Coco Powders; and the Maple Syrup, Honey and Vanilla. Blend
  4. Then add your 100g of Almonds and blend until smooth
  5. Next mix in your Oats and Morello Cherries
  6. When blended down to a smooth mixture pour into shallow lined tin/baking tray
  7. Cook for 40/50 minutes until the top is firm
  8. Allow to cool for and then cut into slices

The great thing about these brownies is that all the sweetness comes from the Honey, Maple Syrup and Cherries and there is no added cane sugar. Having Bananas, Oats and Almonds as the base ingredients makes these brownies especially filling and full of energy as well as a great source of minerals.
