Healthy Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies Recipe

These tasty cookies are made with a few simple ingredients and packed with nutrients. Refined sugar-free, whole grain and super moreish these snacks are great for breakfast, as a lunchbox snack or afternoon treat.

  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper
  • 2 Mixing Bowls
  • Wooden Spoon
  • Whisk
  • Scoop or Spoon
  • Wire Rack
  • Cookie Jar or Airtight Container


  1. Preheat oven to 356F (180C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In one bowl, mix the dry ingredients - flour, oats, baking powder, and salt. Add spices and mix all together until combined.
  3. In a separate bowl whisk the egg, coconut oil, vanilla, and maple syrup. Mix well with a whisk until well combined.
  4. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix. Finally, stir in the dark chocolate chunks or chocolate chips. Mix gently with a spoon. Let the mixture sit for a few minutes.
  5. With a scoop or spoon, scoop the dough, and place it on the baking sheet. Arrange the cookies 2-inches apart. Slightly flatten the dough with the spoon.
  6. Bake 12-15 minutes until the edges of the cookies begin to brown.
  7. Remove cookies from the oven, and let them cool for few minutes on a baking sheet. Then transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Keep in a cookie jar or airtight container.
  9. Eat and enjoy!
