These nourishing lotion bars are made with the well-known 'healing herb' Calendula aka Marigold. This recipe makes 4 cupcake size bars, they're great to use as a natural remedy on dry skin such as elbows and feet. Can also calm down skin irritation from; sun burn, spots and cuts. These soothing bars melt from the temperature of your skin, meaning they are very easy to use! If you choose to add Lavender Oil, it would make them a lovely addition to a bedtime bath for relaxation. Also very pretty - perfect as homemade gifts!
Equipment
- Saucepan
- Glass Bowl or Jug
- Stirring Spoon
- Mould or Cupcake Cases

For the bars
- 1/2 Cup Candelilla Wax

Method
- Firstly, place the plant-based wax into the bowl/jug and put it into the saucepan of low simmering water and wait until the wax has completely melted.
- Next, add the cacao butter and calendula oil and wait, with a mix here and there until the mixture is completely liquid.
- Prepare your moulds or cases by sprinkling some marigold flowers into each.
- Remove the liquid from the heat and add your essential oils, squish it around a little.
- Pour the mixture into the moulds and leave aside to set for a few hours.
- Pop out of cases, use and enjoy!
