With puffed Quinoa, popped like popcorn with a unique texture and subtle nutty flavour this recipe is a healthier superfood take on a classic recipe. They're delicious, sweet, crispy and more-ish! Perfect snack for lunchboxes. 

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Saucepan
  • Wooden Spoon
  • Tray
  • Freezer
  • Sharp Knife


  1. Firstly, combine the puffed quinoa and desiccated coconut in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add the coconut oil, cacao butter, almond butter & maple syrup to a saucepan over a low/medium heat. Melt gently, stirring often with a wooden spoon.
  3. One the mixture is compeltely melted stir in the cacao powder and take off the heat.
  4. Pour the chocolate mixture into the mixing bowl with the puffed quinoa and coconut. Mix together well so all the quinoa puffs are coated in chocolate. 
  5. Then, pour the mixture into a tray and place into the frezer for at least 45 minutes to set.
  6. Remove from the freezer and with a sharp knife cut into squares ready to eat.
  7. Snack and enjoy!
