Variations

This smoothie is concentrated on the main ingredient of Carrot; you could try swapping the Carrot for our very high quality Beetroot Powder or other Vegetable Powders. If you want to replace the Superfood element of this smoothie recipe then you could try our ChlorellaWheatgrass or Moringa Powders. If you love a little kick to your smoothies why not try a few drops/pinches of Chilly Powder or sauce? Or maybe even a bunch of very finely chopped Parsley?

Instead of ice you could try another Thickening Ingredient like Hulled Hemp Seeds which will add a protein boost.

The great thing about the '5 Step' Smoothie Method is that you can transition each layer in making the smoothie with your own Fruits, Liquids, Thickening Ingredients, Flavour Ingredients and Power Boosters to suit your needs and tastes.

Benefits

Packed with essential vitamins and minerals, does this smoothie really have the ability to make you see in the dark? Carrots and spinach are extremely rich in vitamin A, add in the carrot powder and we truly have a recipe for success. Plant based vitamin A is known as beta carotene and retinol - this important vitamin produces pigments in the retina of the eye which enables your eyes to adjust to light changes and improves night vision - science is now backing up what were once referred to as old wives tales - carrots really do help you to see in the dark!

The inclusion of barleygrass and spirulina bring with them almost the full spectrum of B vitamins which support the nervous system, help us beat stress and keep our minds sharp and focussed.  Also bursting with antioxidants, spirulina in particular is well known for its powerful detoxifying effects and is a complete protein containing all 9 of the essential amino acids.

As well as improving your night vision, drink this smoothie when you feel you need a powerful nutritional boost!
