
Calendula (aka Marigold) is a wonderful anti-inflammatory and is great for sun burn, eczema or heat rash. This soothing balm is very easy to make, and wonderful to use during the summer months on dry patches or shoulders that have had a little too much sun. Lavender oil in one of the ingredients of this salve as it is also an anti-inflammatory and excellent for soothing skin. It is lovely to apply this remedy to your skin at bedtime after a bath to help you get a restful sleep. Made with cacao butter to give it a lovely chocolatey scent!

- Glass Jug
- Saucepan
- Mini Salve Container/s
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 Tbsp Candelilla Wax
- 1 x Vitamin E Capsule (as preservative)
- 500ml Water
Method
- Pour the water into the saucepan and heat on the stove for a few minutes.
- Make a double boiler - this means placing a glass jug in the pan of boiled water and heating the marigold oil, wax and cacao butter inside this. Wait until these ingredients are JUST liquified.
- Remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly, add the contents of the vitamin E capsule and the lavender oil at this moment.
- Then pour the mixture into the container/s.
- Allow to cool completely and apply to sore skin as necessary.
