Spirulina & Pumpkin Seed Bounty Bars Recipe

These little treats have a unique superfood taste yet are packed full of goodness. The gorgeous turquoise colour is created by mixing nutritious, algae Spirulina with healthy vegan chocolate. Powered with Pumpkin protein and hemp seeds, even kids will love these bars!

  • Butter Knife or Spatula
Method

  1. Firstly, blend the hulled hemp seeds and pumpkin protein powder in a high powered blender to make a powder-like texture. 
  2. Add the rest of the middle ingredients and whizz, into a paste. 
  3. Pour out the mixture and using your finger and thumbs, shape into rectangle bars. Use spatula and butter knife for assistance.
  4. Then, pop these into the freezer for 1 - 2 hours to set. 
  5. A few moments before taking the bars out of the freezer, make the green chocolate outter layer. 
  6. To do this; melt your chosen vegan chocolate in a bain marie on a low heat on the hob.
  7. Pour chocolate into blender, add the spirulina powder and whizz until you have a green chocolate mixture. 
  8. Let the green chocolate cool, take the bars out of the freezer and coat them in the chocolate mixture. As before, use the spatula & butter knife to shape these into bars, and smooth down the mixture. 
  9. Place into fridge for a few minutes to set again. 
  10. Decorate with edible flowers, if you wish!
  11. Share & enjoy!

Variations

Choose our dark vegan chocolate instead for a different shade of green chocolate.
