This warming winter porridge is the perfect breakfast to get you out of bed on these cold, dark mornings. Powered with Turmeric, which makes the lovely golden colour, this hug in a bowl is packed with energy-boosting and nutrient-dense benefits. It will fill you up until lunchtime! Antioxidant rich Goji Berries, gut-friendly Banana, nutritious Almond Butter and fresh Pomegranate seeds make great delicious & decorative toppings. Give this dairy-free dish a try!

Ingredients
For the porridge
- 50g Rolled Oats
- 180ml Boiled Water
- 120ml Cashew or Almond Milk
- 1 Ripe Banana
- 1-2 Tsp Honey
- 1/8 Tsp Cayenne Powder (adjust to taste)
Optional toppings
- 1 Tbsp Pomegranate Seeds
- Cinnamon Stick (for flavour)
Method
- First, add the oats to a saucepan and cover with the boiling water. Leave to soak for a few minutes!
- Meanwhile, cut 1/3 of the banana and set aside for chopping on top. Mash the rest of the banana with a fork in a small bowl.
- Add the mashed banan and all the other porridge ingredients to the saucepan.
- Cook on a low to medium heat until it just starts to bubble, stirring often with a wooden spoon.
- Reduce the heat to a simmer for 3-5 minutes (or until your desited condidtency is reached). Stir in a little extra plant milk if you like.
- Remove the cinnamon stick and transfer the porridge to serving bowl.
- Top with the remaining sliced banana, goji berries, mixed seeds, almond butter and any other fruit or nuts you like!
- Eat and enjoy!
