Taking herbal remedies in a Tincture or Fluid extract preparation is simple and easy. The tincture can be measured out into the small ml measuring cup that comes with each bottle. (A medicine cup or spoon could also be used) and the tincture can be taken directly.

However some people do find the bitter tincture taste to be too strong, so it may be a good idea to dilute the drops in water or fruit juice. For children, the elderly, those with a sensitive constitution or those avoiding alcohol, the alcohol can be evaporated from the tincture. This can be done by putting the drops in boiling water and leaving for 10 minutes to evaporate. For full instructions go to our How to take Herbal Tincture page.

Ashwagandha Tincture can be added to water or fruit juice.

Daily serving:
Ashwaganda Tincture:

I only received my package yesterday, so it is too early to review the products properly. I can only say that I took them yesterday and today without any ill effects and shall continue to do so. Service is good and prompt, however, I would like to be able to track the parcels en route so that I have a better idea of when they arrive.

Little did I know that it is most likely the stress response that's at the root of my hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating). Since taking ashwaganda, I am sweating much less than usual, I am sleeping better and without night sweats, and I am calmer during the day. I have also recently started combining Ashwagandha with Rhodiola and Schisandra for a combi punch to the face of stress, fatigue, recovery time after exercise and challenging emotional times. I am well impressed with this product. It's potent and totally works; in unexpected ways for some.

Easy to use with measuring dropper. I have mine in cooled herb tea which helps with nasty taste. Took full dose for about 3 months straight having about a weeks break between each bottle. Now take it as I feel I need it. Gives me an energy boost (I think). I run and use it for a day or two before races. Think it really helps me keep level emotionally and energy- wise. Good product.

I'm still trying it out so don't feel able to comment on the effects yet. But the taste isn't nearly as bad as stated and I can take it without having to dilute it. I probably put my comment about the dropper bottle in the wrong place. I feel it could be improved as I'm finding the dose measurement imprecise because the lines on the small plastic cup are very faint. Would it be possible either to make the lines more distinct, or better still have marks on the actual dropper to show the dose?

Also known as: Black Maca

Maca, sometimes called “Peruvian Ginseng”, is an ancient food source from the Andes region with a rich supply of vitamins and minerals.  It contains a rare blend of minerals, including iodine, which supports the adrenal glands and thyroid to produce vital hormones in the proper dosages determined by the bodily need of each individual.  Other essential minerals present are; calcium, potassium, iron and zinc – these minerals work in tandem to promote healthy bones, healthy red blood cells, maintain normal blood pressure and the optimal function of the immune system – with vitamin B6 working alongside iron in the formation of fresh red blood cells.

Also high in the anti-oxidant minerals manganese and copper and the immune boosting vitamin C, maca is a known adaptogen – adaptogens are a unique group of herbal ingredients which help your body adjust to extreme circumstances. Getting its characteristic blue/black colour from the high anthocyanin content, Black Maca in particular is thought to protect against stress, fatigue and to increase memory more than the other varieties of this potent root.

Whether it’s consumed for enhanced energy, boosting the immune system or improving bone density, our Organic Black Maca Powder makes a tasty addition to any diet!

Black Maca Powder can be taken with hot or cold water, you can add milk and honey too, and it can be mixed with fruit juice or smoothies, sprinkled on cereal or added to many other foods.

Maca is a popular herbal supplement and an integral part of the Peruvian way of life, it is a root vegetable that looks a bit like a turnip and it is put into soups, cakes, breads and drinks in Peru. It is grown high in the Andes at 14,000 ft in very rich soils, so its mineral content is especially high.

High in Vitamin C

Vitamin C, a water soluble vitamin also known as ascorbic acid, is one of the safest and most effective vitamins whose benefits are many.  It is absolutely vital in collagen production – collagen is a simple protein and an essential part of our connective tissue – the very framework of our body.  All of the components that hold our bodies together such as skin, bones, blood vessels, teeth and gums, tendons and cartilage rely upon collagen.  Vitamin C is directly responsible for influencing collagen synthesis and helps to shield us from the symptoms of collagen deletion – most famously scurvy!

A powerful antioxidant, vitamin C can protect cells from the damaging effects of free radicals which are harmful by-products of digestion or foreign substances in the atmosphere.  Inside the body it changes form to a negatively charged compound called ascorbate which helps to protect nerve cells and improves psychological function.  It has been known as the antioxidant’s antioxidant because it functions to protect vitamin E from oxidation too, another vitamin that interacts with free radicals to prevent cell damage.  Vitamin C strongly enhances the absorption of iron - when they are consumed and digested together, vitamin C combines with the iron to form a compound that is more easily absorbed.  Crucial to the overall health of the body in its efforts to fight off infections – both bacterial and viral – white blood cells contain 20 times the amount of vitamin C than other cells and require constant replenishment to keep the immune system working to its optimum capacity, especially during and after intense physical exercise.    Whilst highly concentrated in citrus fruits, other rich sources of vitamin C are acerola cherries, leafy green vegetables, red peppers and potatoes.

Vitamin C contributes to:

·         normal collagen formation for the normal function of blood vessels

·         normal collagen formation for the normal function of bones

·         normal collagen formation for the normal function of cartilage

·         normal collagen formation for the normal function of gums

·         normal collagen formation for the normal function of skin

·         normal collagen formation for the normal function of teeth

·         normal energy-yielding metabolism

·         normal functioning of the nervous system

·         normal psychological function

·         the normal function of the immune system

·         maintain the normal function of the immune system during and after intense physical exercise

·         the protection of cells from oxidative stress

·         the reduction of tiredness and fatigue

·         the regeneration of the reduced form of vitamin E

·         Vitamin C increases iron absorption

High in Vitamin B6

Vitamin B6, also known as pyridoxine, plays an essential role in human life and is the most versatile of all the B vitamins!  Working closely with the other B vitamins, vitamin B6 contributes to numerous functions in the body.  It plays an important role in refurbishing the immune system to the required functional level, this potential health benefit appears to be associated with its role in the metabolism of the amino acid tryptophan.  Also referred to as the “mood vitamin”, B6 is needed for proper brain development and function, preventing mental fatigue and helping the body make the feel good hormones serotonin and norepinephrine that relax and lift your spirits, along with melatonin, the hormone which regulates the body clock.

Vitamin B6 is functional in working with a number of enzymatic systems to make these enzymes work in the desired manner, this association contributes to the proper functioning of the nervous system.  It is also involved at several steps in the metabolism of carbohydrates, in particular the enzyme that pulls carbohydrates out of storage in the cell - in the form of a molecule called glycogen – which requires vitamin B6 for its activity and it metabolises a number of other nutrients to extract energy.  Vitamin B6 is a key factor in the manufacture of haemoglobin – the oxygen carrying component of red blood cells – and has a role in preventing heart disease.  Without enough B6 a compound called homocysteine builds up in the body which can damage blood vessel linings, setting the stage for plaque build-up when the body tries to heal the damage.  Vitamin B6 prevents this build-up thereby reducing the risk of heart attack.  The availability of this important vitamin is highest in foods like spirulina, sunflower and pumpkin seeds, green beans, walnuts and wheat germ.

Vitamin B6 contributes to:

·         the normal functioning of the nervous system

·         normal homocysteine metabolism

·         normal protein and glycogen metabolism

·         normal psychological function

·         normal red blood cell formation

·         the normal function of the immune system

·         the reduction of tiredness and fatigue

·         the regulation of hormonal activity

·         normal cysteine synthesis

·         normal energy-yielding metabolism

High in Potassium

Potassium, the third most abundant mineral in the human body, is an essential mineral whose ions are vital for the functioning of all living cells!  Potassium plays a role at both the cellular and electrical level – considered and electrolyte because it carries a tiny electrical charge – it is found in red blood cells, muscles and bones.  Our bodies use potassium ions to conduct electrical impulses along muscle and nerve cells, it helps to boost the efficiency of nerve reflexes that transmit messages from one body part to another, this in turn helps in muscle contraction to perform various activities without tiring quickly.

Potassium also has vasodilating properties that work to relieve the tension of blood vessels which is one of the main causes of high blood pressure.  It is helpful in reversing the role of sodium in unbalancing normal blood pressure thus acting as a vital component that maintains the normality of blood pressure in the human body.  The importance of potassium should not be underestimated in your dietary plan, most famously found in bananas other rich sources of potassium include spinach, avocados and coconut water.

Potassium contributes to:

·         normal functioning of the nervous system

·         normal muscle function

·         the maintenance of normal blood pressure

High in Calcium

Forming 2% of total body weight in adults, calcium’s best known role is in bone and tooth health.  It forms a part of hydroxyapatite, the mineral complex that makes your bones and teeth hard and maintains bone density.  It is especially important that children consume an adequate amount of calcium to maximise their bone mass prior to adult years.  Also an important part of the blood clotting process, calcium works together with vitamin K and a protein called fibrinogen in the clotting cascade, without adequate levels of calcium and vitamin K the blood will take longer to clot.  Calcium helps your muscles contract in response to nerve stimulation, it activates a protein called calmodulin that your muscle cells need to provide the fuel they need to function.  Assisting in the transmission of neural impulses, the calcium in your body also aids other types of cell communication – it acts as a “second messenger” in your cells which means it responds to chemical signals from outside your cells and then triggers a response inside your cell.

Calcium helps to activate several digestive enzymes and there is considerable evidence that calcium and vitamin D intake are influential in modulating energy metabolism in humans.  Like all minerals, calcium doesn’t work alone but in tandem with other nutrients such as magnesium and vitamin D, for this reason, obtaining our calcium from whole foods – foods whose nutrient profiles have been optimised by nature for superior absorption – is the best way to remain healthy!  Excellent natural calcium sources include; chia seeds, sesame seeds, seaweed (such as kelp and Kombu), dark leafy greens and dairy products (such as yoghurt, cheese and kefir).

Calcium contributes to:

·         normal blood clotting

·         normal energy-yielding metabolism

·         normal muscle function

·         normal neurotransmission

·         the normal function of digestive enzymes

·         Calcium has a role in the process of cell division and specialisation

·         Calcium is needed for the maintenance of normal bones

·         Calcium is needed for the maintenance of normal teeth

·         Calcium is needed for normal growth and development of bone in children

High in Iron

Iron is needed for a number of highly complex processes that continuously take place in the body on a molecular level and that are indispensable to human life.  Formation of haemoglobin is the chief function of this mineral – this is the primary protein found in red blood cells and represents about two thirds of the body’s iron.  Haemoglobin binds to the oxygen molecules that you breathe in from the air and releases them into your tissues.  The brain receives around 20% of the blood oxygen and a proper flow of blood to the brain can stimulate cognitive activity and help to create new neural pathways, it is especially important that children consume enough iron in their diet – iron deficiency in the first two years of a child’s life is associated with delayed cognitive and psychomotor development.

Ribonucleic reductase is an iron dependant enzyme that is required for DNA synthesis (cell division), thus iron is required for a number of functions including healing and immune function - red blood cells are necessary for providing oxygen to damaged tissues, organs and cells.  Iron is also involved in food metabolism and is a cofactor and activator for some enzymes which play key roles in energy production and metabolism.  If iron stores are low symptoms can include tiredness, fatigue and dizziness.  Dietary iron has two forms, heme (animal based) and non-heme (plant based), important sources are; grass fed beef, oysters, spinach, lentils and beans.

Iron contributes to:

·         normal cognitive function

·         normal energy-yielding metabolism

·         normal formation of red blood cells and haemoglobin

·         normal oxygen transport in the body

·         normal function of the immune system

·         the reduction of tiredness and fatigue

·         normal cognitive development of children

High in Zinc

Zinc is a metal that functions as an essential nutrient in the body, it is found in every cell and has been used since ancient times, with Ayurvedic texts dating as far back as the 14th century recommending its application in various forms.  Although only required in limited amounts, zinc supports important bodily processes like strengthening the immune system – your body needs zinc to make T-cells, a type of white blood cell that fights off foreign invaders in your bloodstream.  With antioxidant properties, zinc helps to protect the cells in the body from damage by free radicals and supports the catalytic activity of various enzymes essential in DNA synthesis and cell division.  In males, zinc assists in spermatogenesis (the production of mature spermatozoa) and is a critical mineral for robust testosterone levels, in females it aids in all the reproductive phases including the birth and lactation stages.

Zinc is an essential component of over 300 enzymes participating in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fatty acids, proteins and other macronutrients and has a regulatory role in vitamin A transport mediated through protein synthesis.  The intake of zinc has a positive influence on bone mass, it is an important cofactor in the stimulation of bone building osteoblasts (cells that synthesize bone), it accelerates the renewal of skin cells and it is essential for healthy nails and shiny hair.  Zinc is vital for vision with high concentrations found in the retina and may also protect from night blindness and prevent the development of cataracts.  This super nutrient also plays a crucial role in memory formation and cognitive stability, ensuring a proper intake of zinc is an important step towards optimal brain function.  Topping the list of zinc rich foods are oysters, however seeds such as chia, sunflower, hemp and pumpkin are also rich sources of this important mineral.

Zinc contributes to:

·         normal DNA synthesis

·         normal acid-base metabolism

·         normal carbohydrate metabolism

·         normal cognitive function

·         normal fertility and reproduction

·         normal macronutrient metabolism

·         normal metabolism of fatty acids

High in Copper

An essential trace mineral in the body, copper has long been known to play a role in human health – its use dates back to 400 BC when Hippocrates is said to have employed it as a treatment for a variety of disorders.  Playing a beneficial role in immune function, you need copper for healthy white blood cells – the cell type tasked with seeking out, identifying and destroying pathogens.  Low copper levels lower your white blood count leaving you vulnerable to infection.

Copper is a vital element of the dark pigment melanin which imparts colouration to the hair and skin, intake of copper is said to protect greying hair.  Copper helps in the absorption of iron from the intestinal tract and releases it from its primary storage sites like the liver.  Also playing a significant role in the synthesis of haemoglobin, myelin and collagen, copper helps to protect the myelin sheath surrounding the nerves and is actively involved in the production of an element of connective tissue, elastin.  Functioning as a coenzyme for energy metabolism from the macronutrients in food we consume, copper enables a normal metabolic process in association with amino acids and vitamins.  Oxidative stress is a characteristic of copper deficiency, when obtained from dietary sources it acts as an antioxidant, getting rid of free radicals which can damage your cells and DNA.  For your body to use copper you need to have a balance of zinc and manganese which is why it is best to obtain your copper from dietary sources where it is already in bioavailable form.  Topping the chart as the best source of copper are oysters!  Closely followed by kale, shitake mushrooms, seeds, nuts and nut butters.

Copper Contributes to:

·         the maintenance of normal connective tissues

·         normal energy-yielding metabolism

·         the normal functioning of the nervous system

·         normal hair pigmentation

·         normal iron transport in the body

·         normal skin pigmentation

·         the normal function of the immune system

High in Manganese

Derived from the Greek word for magic, manganese is a trace mineral that is present in tiny amounts in the body and is found mostly in the bones, liver, kidneys and pancreas.  It is essential for the proper and normal growth of the human bone structure and is a very effective mineral in aiding in the increase of the mineral density of spinal bone.  Manganese is also needed in the production and repair of connective tissue, its specific role is in the manufacture of mucopolysaccharides which are one of the main components of all connective tissues.

Regulation of the body’s metabolism is another vital function of manganese with manganese activated enzymes helping in the metabolism of cholesterol, amino acids and carbohydrates.  Also a powerful contributor to the protection of cells from oxidative stress, manganese is a component of the antioxidant enzyme superoxide dismutase (SOD) which helps to fight free radicals.  Free radicals occur naturally in the body but can damage cell membranes and DNA, antioxidants such as SOD can help to neutralise free radicals.  Rich sources of manganese include; whole grains, nuts and nut butters and leafy vegetables.

Manganese contributes to:

·         normal energy-yielding metabolism

·         the maintenance of normal bones

·         the normal formation of connective tissue

·         the protection of cells from oxidative stress

High in Iodine

Iodine is a trace mineral and an essential component of the thyroid hormones triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4) and is therefore vital for normal thyroid function.  These hormones are directly responsible for controlling the body’s “base metabolic rate” which affects the efficiency and efficacy of many of the body’s organ systems and regular processes including absorption of food and the biosynthesis of food into usable energy.  In addition, thyroid hormones are important for myelination – the formation of the myelin sheath around nerve fibre – of the central nervous system shortly after birth.

Iodine is especially crucial to brain development in children and a deficiency of this mineral during critical periods such as during foetal development or early childhood can have deleterious effects on cognition, a deficiency in adults can lead to intellectual impairment.  A cause and effect relationship has also been established between the intake of iodine and the normal growth of children and adolescents.  With the formation of healthy skin also being related to normal iodine levels, important sources of this essential mineral are; seaweed (such as kelp), coconut products, shellfish and dark leafy greens.

Iodine contributes to:

·         the normal growth of children

·         normal cognitive function

·         normal energy-yielding metabolism

·         the normal function of the nervous system

·         the maintenance of normal skin

·         the normal production of thyroid hormones and normal thyroid function

Source of Vitamin B3

Vitamin B3, also known as niacin, is an essential nutrient that must be provided for in your diet. The health benefits of niacin are primarily derived from its use in producing a coenzyme called nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide or NAD, with one of the most important health benefits being its role in producing energy from dietary carbohydrates and fats.  Vitamin B3 seems to have a particularly potent role in maintaining mental agility and is important for the proper functioning of all cells including the cells of the brain and the nervous system - it acts as a powerful antioxidant in brain cells.  When the nervous system is working properly symptoms such as anxiety and mood swings can be prevented, even a slight deficiency in vitamin B3 can cause physical and mental fatigue.

The most common symptom of niacin deficiency involves the skin with a severe deficiency leading to dermatitis and a condition called “pellagra” where a thick scaly rash develops in areas exposed to sunlight.  If pellagra is left untreated it can perturb the mucous membranes of the mouth and tongue making them red and swollen.  Vitamin B3 is found abundantly in chia seeds with just 100 grams providing approximately 55% of daily required levels.  Other good sources include sesame and sunflower seeds, nuts and nut butters, capers and brewer’s yeast.

Vitamin B3 contributes to:

·         normal energy-yielding metabolism

·         normal functioning of the nervous system

·         normal psychological function

·         the maintenance of normal mucous membranes

·         the maintenance of normal skin

·         the reduction of tiredness and fatigue

Our Organic Black Maca Powder is grown at an altitude of 4000 metres. The seeds are sown in September at the beginning of the rainy season during the early morning before high winds gather for the day. Either the farmers use branches or release sheep onto the planting area to press the seed into the ground.

The seed are then left to grow for a total of 9 months until May when the Maca tuber has grown to 5cm in diameter. After the Maca root has been carefully harvested by hand, it is left to dry for a period of 10-15 days until it is completely dry, then transported to a processing plant.

Here the Maca tubas go through stringent checks and selections where only the best examples are washed and prepared to be cut into 10mm pieces. These segments are then dehydrated at 45°C until they are ready for milling. During milling the raw Maca material is reduced to a particle size of 0.251 mm through a 60 mesh specification into a very fine powder. The whole procedure from whole living plant to powder is constantly checked so there are absolutely no pollutants or chemicals used in the growing or processing of this premium Organic Black Maca Powder.

Maca is not recommended for women with breast, ovarian, uterine or other hormone related cancers.

Using Herbal and Superfood powders on a daily basis is simple, easy and can be really delicious. The simplest way is to rehydrate the powder in a little filtered water to make a shot, this can easily be prepared once, twice or three times per day if you are taking the herbs therapeutically. However sometimes the herbs can be bitter so the botanical powders can be added to a superfood smoothie instead of just water. The smoothie can be made with a base of nut milk, seed milk or non-dairy milk such as rice milk. Alternatively the main body of the smoothie can be created with fruit or vegetable juices.

Additional superfood and herb powders can be added to fortify the smoothie with extra beneficial properties. The powders are largely dissolvable and can be scooped in and then blended, shaken or stirred until fully mixed with the liquid. Any true Superfood smoothie disciple would advise that the list of possibilities is endless with the goal to feel great and potentially replace a meal with this glass of super goodness. For full instructions go to our How to take Herbal Powders page.

Another option is to use a Capsule Machine that can be bought from the Indigo Herbs website. Filling capsules with your favourite herb has never been easier when you buy a Capsule machine. You can then be sure that the capsules you are taking are 100% pure ingredients without fillers added by some companies.

Catuaba Powdercan be re-hydrated in water or fruit juice, it can be encapsulated or added to a herbal powder blend. Please consult the Herbal Materia Medica or Medical Herbalist for this botanical ingredients uses.

Making a delicious cup of tea with loose leaf herbs is simple and easy. Brewing loose leaves is a traditional art with many different styles and varying items of tea brewing equipment on the market. There are one cup teaballs that can be filled with loose leaves, flowers, and barks and submerged straight into a boiling cup of hot water and then left to infuse. The rule of thumb with brewing loose leaves is to allow them to fully release their beneficial aromatic phyto-chemical content.

This process is lovingly called brewing and takes 5-10 minutes so a tea cosy is recommended if you are using a pot. When making a pot of tea it is advised that you use one teaspoon of loose leaf tea per person and one for the pot. Any true tea maker who truly appreciates the art would recommend heating the pot first, and of course when the tea is fully infused it is absolutely necessary that the drinker sits down and takes a minute to enjoy! For full instructions go to our How to make Herbal Tea Page.

Suggested use:

Grab a pan (preferably just used for herbs). Catuaba bark can be made into a herbal tea by decocting the herb by immersing in boiling water over a low heat for 10 minutes, this extracts the phyto-chemicals from the bark. Use 2 cups of boiling water per person. Pour and strain into a cup. Enjoy.

 Serving:

Use ½ – 1 teaspoon of dried root to 1 cup of hot water, 3 times a day.

1 teaspoon equals 1.5 grams (1 tsp = 1.5g)
  • Produced to GMP standards.
  • Quality Assured by Indigo Herbs.

Catuaba Herbal Tincture can be added to water or fruit juice.

Serving:

Catuaba Herbal Tincture:
Traditionally Taken: Take 2-3 ml 2-3 times per day..
or as directed by a Herbal practitioner.

20 drops from the glass dropper equals approximately 1ml.

After the Catuaba bark has been harvested and shredded it is dried at a temperature of no less than 34°C. This preserves the naturally occurring phytochemical content found in the bark. After careful selection and cleaning the Catuaba bark undergoes a process of cold percolation in order to extract the active constituents into tincture form. The cold percolation method employs a gradient circulation of the solution which keeps the plant ingredients in perpetual contact with the ethanol. This technique is faster and more efficient than maceration and ensures there is less waste of precious plant materials. This premium quality product is manufactured to GMP standards and Quality Assured by Indigo Herbs. It is 100% pure botanical ingredients, completely free of synthetic ingredients with absolutely nothing added.

Manufacture Process

The 'CS-4' strain of Cordyceps was achieved by taking the wild Cordeceps strains:

  • Paecilomyces hepialid Chen and Dai Cs-4

Then by a process of liquid fermintation, producing a viable mushroom with the same chemical composition as the wild Cordyceps variety. This research took many years to complete and has resulted in a mushroom that is no longer only destined for those who can afford it. Indigo Herbs Cordyceps CS-4 Powder is not the wild variety but the next best thing.

  • The research resulted in the Cordyceps strain Cs-4.

Cordycepin 0.4%

Cordycepic Acid 13%

Polyaccharide 5.8%

Avoid in individuals with a known allergy or hypersensitivity to cordyceps, mold, or fungi. Cordyceps may cause dry mouth, nausea, loss of appetite, diarrhea or dizziness.

Cordyceps is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women due to a lack of available scientific evidence. Cordyceps may be possibly unsafe in pregnant women, as it may affect steroid hormone levels.

Indigo Herbs Damiana leaf tea can be taken 3 times a day as suggested below

Serving:
1-2 teaspoon of cut herb / 1 cup of boiling water, infuse for 10-15 minutes.

1 teaspoon equals 0.50g (1 tsp = 0.50g)

The Damiana plant is prevalent throughout the arid hot sandy environs of Mexico. Indigo Herbs Damiana leaf Tea comes from high quality Damiana leaves that are usually harvested during flowering and are set out to be air dried until they turn a golden yellow colour.

After selection of the best individual dried leaf there is an inspection to guarantee there are no other constituents or pollutants on the plant material. This product is traditionally wild crafted since Damiana seed is very difficult to propagate in controlled environments. To make sure that all chemical constituents remain intact, this pure leaf has not been heat treated in any way.

The leaves have a minor laxative effect and may cause loosening of the stools at higher amounts. Until more is known about Damiana's effects on the female hormonal system, it should be avoided during pregnancy.

I first tried Damiana about 50 years ago in the form of home made wine made by my father. At the time I believed it was responsible for clearing up my teenage acne and making me feel more awake. However, half a century on, as a fit and healthy pensioner I can state that having consumed the 100g pack in the form of cups of tea it has had absolutely no beneficial effect whatsoever. There have been no physiological changes detectable. It was reasonably pleasant to drink but I shall not be looking to buy any more. P.S. The speed of delivery was impressive - less than 24hrs from placing online order.

Damiana Leaf Fluid Extract: Traditionally Taken: 1-4ml throughout the day or as directed by a Herbal practitioner.

20 drops from the glass dropper equals approximately 1ml.

  • Produced to GMP standards.
  • Quality Assured by Indigo Herbs.
  • Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
  • 100% pure botanical ingredients, absolutely nothing added.
  • Packaged in a pharmacoepial grade brown glass bottle with dropper.

 Manufacture Process

Grown in Mexico, the Damiana leaf used to make this pure extract undergoes careful selection and cleaning before the process of cold percolation takes place. In order to infuse the active constituents into fluid extract form a cold percolation method is employed. This method utilizes a gradient circulation of the solution which keeps the plant ingredients in perpetual contact with the ethanol.

The leaves have a minor laxative effect and may cause loosening of the stools at higher amounts. Until more is known about damiana's effects on the female hormonal system, it should be avoided during pregnancy.

Indigo Herbs Damiana Powder has been harvested from the leaves of the finest Mexican Damiana plant. This powder is premium quality assured and can be mixed with a little liquid and taken daily.

At Indigo Herbs we are passionate about premium quality botanicals. Explore the tabs on this page to find out more about the quality, manufacture and suggested use of this herbal powder. We are unable to advise you here on the benefits of our herbal products, however we do recommend you take the opportunity to research the many benefits of this herb. At Indigo Herbs we are committed to empowering optimum health and nutrition and assisting you to take responsibility for your own health and wellbeing, by having access to many of natures healing botanicals. Please consult an Herbalist as to how this product can benefit you.

Also known as: Old Woman's Broom, Mexican Holly, Herba de la Pastora, Aphrodisiakos, Goddess of Love, Love Leaf, Hierba del Amor, Chanana.

This powder can be added to hot water to take as a tea, mixed with juice or in a smoothy.

Serving: 1-3 grams daily. It is suggested not to exceed the maximum of 3 grams.

The Indigo Botanicals aromatherapy range: is hand blended in house following our unique proprietary aromatherapy blend recipes, designed for your benefit by our in house aromatherapist. Greatest care and attention is taken when selecting the ingredients, and the synergy of each oil blend is created with your wellbeing in mind. All the ingredients are 100% pure and natural, and they are bottled in pharmacopeial grade glass bottles to ensure the longest shelf life. This pulse point roller consists of 90% Almond oil and 10% Erotic Spice mix.

All the essential oils we use in our unique blends are manufactured to GMP standards using steam distillation, extraction or expression. During steam distillation the plant matter is put into boiling water or infused with steam. The steam is collected and the oils are separated from the water. During extraction, a solvent is used to extract the oil, by creating a concrete. This concrete is made up of plant matter, resins, waxes, and essential oils. A second solvent, such as ethyl alcohol is used to extract the essential oils from the concrete, this creates an absolute. During expression the plant matter is pressed (at cool temperatures) to release the oils. All of the carrier oils we use in our proprietary blends are 100% natural pure and cold pressed.

This a very good company to use because their products are of high quality, they are always easy to reach social media sites/phone/email and they always manage to resolve any issues. The wide range they have has made Indigo Herbs a one-stop shop for me. I and my family use a wide range of herbs and oils, there's never been a product Ingo Herbs couldn't supply. I have used them for one year + so far, and have not looked back. Thank you to a TOP team!
