It is advised to follow a recipe when using Apple Pectin Powder as the amount required will depend on the fruits being used and the ripeness of the fruits. Apple Pectin needs to boil for around 1 minute to be fully activated, any less and the gel-like mesh structure will not form, however, if it remains at a high temperature for too long (any more than a couple of minutes) the long chain sugars will start to break down and the Pectin will no longer work as desired.
Apple Pectin Powder is an incredibly versatile product which can also be taken as a dietary prebiotic supplement. In this case 1-2 grams can be taken up to 1-2 times daily. Simply scoop the recommended dosage into water or fruit juice and stir.

Manufacture Process
Apple Pectin Powder is made from exceptional quality Apple Pomace, through a traditional method, with nothing added. Pectin levels are highest in the skin & core of the apples. This is called the Apple Pomace, and the specific use of this to make Apple Pectin Powder is recorded back to the industrial revolution. The Apple Pomace is cooked for several hours which breaks down the longer chain protopectin. The extract is then filtered and precipitated then separated. Finally it is washed and dried. The dried pectin is then milled to leave a fine beige-coloured powder. This process is quality assured by Indigo Herbs.
