Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy is probably as old as mankind itself. In Greek mythology it was believed that the gods were gifted with the knowledge of perfume and fragrance. However, it is the ancient Egyptians that are credited with inventing the first distillation machines to extract the delicate oils from plants. Hippocrates was also said to have used aromatherapy in his healing practices.
The term “aromatherapy” was coined in 1937 by the French chemist Rene-Maurice Gattefosse, who after a burn incident found that lavender essential oil helped to cure his burn. This led to much research on the healing powers of essential oils, drawing on centuries of traditional use.
The essential oils in Indigo Herbs Aromatherapy Range are either cold-pressed or steam-distilled with no solvents used in the extraction process.
