Using Herbal and Superfood powders on a daily basis is simple, easy and can be really delicious. The simplest way is to rehydrate the powder in a little filtered water to make a shot, this can easily be prepared once, twice or three times per day if you are taking the herbs therapeutically. However sometimes the herbs can be bitter so the botanical powders can be added to a superfood smoothie instead of just water. The smoothie can be made with a base of nut milk, seed milk or non-dairy milk such as rice milk. Alternatively the main body of the smoothie can be created with fruit or vegetable juices.

Additional superfood and herb powders can be added to fortify the smoothie with extra beneficial properties. The powders are largely dissolvable and can be scooped in and then blended, shaken or stirred until fully mixed with the liquid. Any true Superfood smoothie disciple would advise that the list of possibilities is endless with the goal to feel great and potentially replace a meal with this glass of super goodness. For full instructions go to our How to take Herbal Powders page.

Another option is to use a Capsule Machine that can be bought from the Indigo Herbs website. Filling capsules with your favourite herb has never been easier when you buy a Capsule machine. You can then be sure that the capsules you are taking are 100% pure ingredients without fillers added by some companies.

This Astragalus Powder can be re-hydrated in water or fruit juice, it can be encapsulated or added to a herbal powder blend. Please consult the Herbal Materia Medica or Medical Herbalist for this botanical ingredients uses.

Serving:

1 - 4 tsp throughout the day

This whole and pure Astragalus powder has been made from the finest quality grade Astragalus root. The plants have been grown to full maturity making sure the root is fully formed and at peak potency. After they have been dug up all roots are cleaned and inspected upon drying. Taking herbs in a Tincture or Fluid extract preparation is simple and easy. The tincture can be measured out in a small ml measuring cup, medicine cup or spoon, and the tincture can be taken directly.

However some people do find the bitter tincture taste to be too strong, so it may be a good idea to dilute the drops in water or fruit juice. For children, the elderly, those with a sensitive constitution or those avoiding alcohol, the alcohol can be evaporated from the tincture. This can be done by putting the drops in boiling water and leaving for 10 minutes to evaporate. For full instructions go to our How to take Herbal Tincture page.

Astragalus Tincture can be added to water or fruit juice.

Serving:

20 drops from the glass dropper equals approximately 1ml.

  • Produced to GMP standards.

Manufacture Process

After 5 years of growth the roots of the Astragalus plants are mature and ready for harvest. Indigo Herbs Astragalus roots are harvested and identified by plant experts before the leaves and small stem parts stripped away leaving only the root. Only the best prime examples of the root are used in our Astragalus Tincture. Damaged or underdeveloped roots are discarded through a process of elimination. The Astragalus root then undergoes a process of cold percolation in order to extract the active constituents into tincture form. The cold percolation method employs a gradient circulation of the solution which keeps the plant ingredients in perpetual contact with the ethanol. This technique is faster and more efficient than maceration and ensures there is less waste of precious plant materials. This premium quality product is manufactured to GMP standards and Quality Assured by Indigo Herbs. It is 100% pure botanical ingredients, completely free of synthetic ingredients with absolutely nothing added.

Thyme bears a lengthy history of use and is still enthusiastically enjoyed by many people today. A cup of organic thyme offers a refreshing aroma and a stimulating flavour that has made it popular among herbal drinkers everywhere. Yet another member of the diverse mint family, thyme is a uniquely fragrant herb which has been commonly used for a variety of culinary purposes. Historically, however, thyme’s use dates back much farther than its first appearance in the kitchen. Ancient Egyptians employed thyme for embalming, and in Medieval Europe, placing thyme under your pillow was thought to ward off evil. Today, when not added to a spice collection, thyme leaves are used to provide an aromatic and flavourful cup of thyme.

Indigo Herbs has selected some of the best dietary supplements, teas & snacks from other leading health brands to complement our own extensive range of nutritionally dense superfoods, wholefoods, herbal powders and loose leaf teas. As well as being of the highest quality we believe these products directly relate to Indigo Herbs mission to offer our customers the best possible range of life enhancing health and nutrition supplements.

Use 1 bag per cup and infuse for 3 - 6 minutes.

Also known as: King of the medicinal mushrooms

Making a delicious cup of tea with loose leaf herbs is simple and easy. Brewing loose leaves is a traditional art with many different styles and varying items of tea brewing equipment on the market. There are one cup teaballs that can be filled with loose leaves, flowers, and barks and submerged straight into a boiling cup of hot water and then left to infuse. The rule of thumb with brewing loose leaves is to allow them to fully release their beneficial aromatic phyto-chemical content.

This process is lovingly called brewing and takes 5-10 minutes so a tea cosy is recommended if you are using a pot. When making a pot of tea it is advised that you use one teaspoon of loose leaf tea per person and one for the pot. Any true tea maker who truly appreciates the art would recommend heating the pot first, and of course when the tea is fully infused it is absolutely necessary that the drinker sits down and takes a minute to enjoy! For full instructions go to our How to make Herbal Tea Page.

Our Estonian Wild Crafted Chaga can be brewed into a tea. Heat in water over a low heat (160°F or 75°C) to extract the phyto-chemicals of this medicinal mushroom. Brew for up to an hour, (will turn a deep brown colour, then drink). The same Chaga can be re-used until the water extracted from the chunk is pale in colour.

Serving:

1 - 2 teaspoons of Wild Crafted Chaga per cup is usually sufficient for one cup of Chaga tea. Remember that the Chaga can be reused.

Wild Crafted Chaga from Indigo Herbs are harvested from Birch trees in Estonia. Only mature Chaga mushrooms are harvested and smaller immature Chaga fungal growth is left until it has reached an acceptable size for harvesting. The Chaga mushroom grows high up on the Birch tree, and is picked in spring and summer. The mushroom absorbs the nutrients and compounds from the tree and makes it more available to humans. Chaga lives in a symbiotic relationship with the birch tree. The experienced fungus expert will break off the Chaga conk (the piece of fungal matter exposed on the trunk or tree branch) with his/her hand and taken back to be prepared for drying. If there is no sun available then the Chaga is usually dehydrated at a temperature no less than 40.5°C. The drying process is done as quickly as possible to insure that no other bacteria or fungus can grow on the Chaga matter. The pure fungus is then broken down to make small Chaga pieces and coarse powder.

100% Pure Chaga Mushroom

There are no known side effects to date from consuming Chaga.

This miracle product cured my mother's arthritic big toe. She yelped out in agony whenever she tried to touch it and so was bedridden for a time. Until I made for her a cup of chaga mushroom tea and from her quarters she did text me with urgency to tell that the inflammation surrounding the joint of her swolen toe had greatly diminished, and contact that was direct could be made once more! 🥰

Prompt delivery, very high quality product. Chaga is recommended to boost the immune system and counter a wide range of infections. Use the raw version to make tea (decoction) or alcoholic extracts. Since it has a delicate flavour (not the typical one of mushrooms) it can be easily combined with other drinks or foods.

At Indigo Herbs we are passionate about premium quality botanicals. Explore the tabs on this page to find out more about the quality, manufacture and suggested use of this herbal powder. We are unable to advise you here on the benefits of our herbal products, however we do recommend you take the opportunity to research the many benefits of this herb. Please consult an Herbalist as to how this product can benefit you.

Cinnamon powder can be used extensively in cookery. Add to muffins, cakes, breads, flapjacks and curries. Tea: Add Cinnamon powder to your favorite herbal tea or make an Indian Tea with black tea, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, fennel seeds, vanilla powder and milk. Breakfast: Add cinnamon to your breakfast cereal, oat porridge or sprinkle on toast. Sprinkle cinnamon on your morning cup of coffee, cocoa or cappuccino. Use as required.

Serving:

½ to 2 teaspoons of Cinnamon Powder can be added to either sweet or savory foods/smoothies

1 teaspoon equals 2 grams (1 tsp = 2g)
  • Produced to GMP standards.

  • Re-sealable air tight, foil pouch.

Manufacture Process

Indigo Herbs Cinnamon Powder comes from Cinnamon cassia trees grown on a plantation cultivated specifically for use as Cinnamon Powder. Once the Cinnamon trees have reached the age of 2 years they are cut to the stump and the stump covered in soil. The next year the stump will sprout branches that will grow from the stump and it is these branches that are used for cinnamon. The branches are cut when they have reached the required size and stripped of their outer bark. When left in the sun the inner bark comes apart and curls into quills that is seen specifically in cinnamon sticks. These quills are then graded into different sizes and qualities before being tested for pollutants and packaged up. This whole process complies with GMP standards and is quality assured by Indigo Herbs.

100% Pure Cinnamon zeylanicum Powder

Do not use cinnamon when breast feeding as it can be too irritating for a baby's digestive system.

After careful harvesting, selection and cleaning the Eucalyptus leaves used to make this tincture undergo a process of cold percolation in order to extract the active constituents into tincture form.
