Barberry Products
Barberry is an evergreen shrub of the genus "Berberis" and the family Berberidaceae, growing throughout the temperate and sub-tropical regions of the world. It has a long history of traditional use as a folk remedy for digestive disorders, heartburn and various other ailments. It is thought that the many benefits of this herb stem from its plant alkaloids, in particular "berberine", the active ingredient that is also found in Goldenseal. Barberry has been extensively used throughout many tradiitonal medicine systems, most notably by the Native Americans, Egyptians and in Ayurveda.
