The Blackberry bush - also known as Bramble - is a common and often ill regarded plant beacuse of it's quick growth and tough long thorny branches. This is until berry season when everyone delights in the sweet unique forest fruits. Found throughout northern Europe, the blackberry bush can be found in woodland, hedges and generally anywhere with acidic soil. Folklore says that the berries shouldn't be eaten after Old Michaelmas Day on the 10th of October. Christian belief holds this day to be when Lucifer was expelled from heaven and he proceeded to use the blackberry bush as a plant to relieve himself on.
