Bladderwrack Products

Bladderwrack is a seaweed native to the shores of the North Atlantic and Western Mediterranean. It owes its name to the forked fronds that contain “air bladders” and has been used in ancient and contemporary herblism for centuries. It is extremely rich in iodine, and as such Bladderwrack was used to distil the first examples of this important compound in the 19th century. Bladderwrack is rich in many other minerals and trace elements and has a long history of use as an alterative and nutritive herb.
