All trees are grown to full European Organic Certification standards. When mature, the pods of the Carob tree are knocked from the tree taking care not to disturb the flowers which are open around the same time. The Carob pods are gently dried at a temperature of 90 degrees for 150 minutes, the pods must be reduced to around 8% moisture so they do not rot. After separation from the beans the pods are selected with the only the best examples being used for powder. The selected pods are milled to a fine powder that is fully tested for heavy metals, foreign bodies and toxic chemicals. The Carob Powder is then made ready for shipping.

Folate – the naturally occurring vitamin B9 – is often confused with folic acid. Formation of haemoglobin is the chief function of this mineral – this is the primary protein found in red blood cells and represents about two thirds of the body’s iron. Haemoglobin binds to the oxygen molecules that you breathe in from the air and releases them into your tissues.
