Indigo Herbs Organic Cashew Nuts are grown in organic orchards without chemical herbicides, pesticides or fertilizers. The nut is in fact a seed that grows on the bottom of the cashew apple. When the ‘nuts’ have grown to full maturity they are left to dry out a little until the outer husk can be removed revealing the nut inside. The outer husk is very toxic and so a machine takes off most of the outer layers to reveal the nut. The nuts are then left for another drying period and screened and washed until they are ready to be tested for foreign chemical profiles and toxins. Only the best nuts are packed and made ready for shipping. This process complies with GMP standards and is quality assured by Indigo Herbs.
