Taking herbs in a Tincture or Fluid extract preparation is simple and easy. The tincture can be measured out in a small ml measuring cup, medicine cup or spoon, and the tincture can be taken directly.

However some people do find the bitter tincture taste to be too strong, so it may be a good idea to dilute the drops in water or fruit juice. For children, the elderly, those with a sensitive constitution or those avoiding alcohol, the alcohol can be evaporated from the tincture. This can be done by putting the drops in boiling water and leaving for 10 minutes to evaporate. For full instructions go to our How to take Herbal Tincture page.

Cats Claw Tincture can be added to water or fruit juice.

Cats Claw Tincture:
Traditionally Taken: 2-3ml taken 2-3 times per day.
or as directed by a Herbal practitioner.

20 drops from the glass dropper equals approximately 1ml.

The greatest phytochemical properties of the Cat’s Claw vine lay in the bark of the plant. The plant must be at least 8 years old before it can be harvested for its bark. After careful selection and cleaning the plant material undergoes a process of cold percolation in order to extract the active constituents into tincture form. The cold percolation method employs a gradient circulation of the solution which keeps the plant ingredients in perpetual contact with the ethanol. This technique is faster and more efficient than maceration and ensures there is less waste of precious plant materials. This premium quality product is manufactured to GMP standards and Quality Assured by Indigo Herbs. It is 100% pure botanical ingredients, completely free of synthetic ingredients with absolutely nothing added.

Uncaria tomentosa, Alcohol, Water

Do not take Cat's Claw if on blood thinning medication. It is not recommended to take Cat’s Claw if you have scheduled surgery.

Large quantities can cause stomach upset because of the large number of tannins in the bark. It is recommended to increase dose in increments to lessen the symptoms of detoxification.

Always consult your healthcare professional if taking prescription medication.

Cat's Claw is a grounding reassuring plant that helps stay centred in troubling times. The tincture from Indigo Herbs meets my satisfaction. My only comment is that it could be more potent - I need more drops than with other preparations I've tried.

A potent antiviral, this product really ramps up the immune system. The tincture means that I can drop it under my tongue, gargle with it or just mix it in water and it goes to work quickly. However you can, please fight to protect the rainforests from destruction because we stand to lose this valuable medicinal plant otherwise.

Apart from the strong taste (no worse than whiskey in my opinion), it seems okay. Haven't noticed any difference to my immune condition so far, but early days
