Chaga Powder 50g - medicinal mushroom. Chaga Mushroom Powder 50g is a nutrient rich mushroom hand harvested in the Scottish Highlands. The phyto-chemicals in Chaga powder 50g can be extracted by making a herbal decoction, this can be done by placing a teaspoon of Chaga powder on a rolling simmer in hot water for up to an hour. This makes a nutrient rich tea, ready for drinking. The powder can also be ingested by re-hydrating in water or juice.

Using Herbal and Superfood powders on a daily basis is simple, easy and can be really delicious. The simplest way is to rehydrate the powder in a little filtered water to make a shot, this can easily be prepared once, twice or three times per day if you are taking the herbs therapeutically. However sometimes the herbs can be bitter so the botanical powders can be added to a superfood smoothie instead of just water. The smoothie can be made with a base of nut milk, seed milk or non-dairy milk such as rice milk. Alternatively the main body of the smoothie can be created with fruit or vegetable juices.

Additional superfood and herb powders can be added to fortify the smoothie with extra beneficial properties. The powders are largely dissolvable and can be scooped in and then blended, shaken or stirred until fully mixed with the liquid. Any true Superfood smoothie disciple would advise that the list of possibilities is endless with the goal to feel great and potentially replace a meal with this glass of super goodness. For full instructions go to our How to take Herbal Powders page.

Another option is to use a Capsule Machine that can be bought from the Indigo Herbs website. Filling capsules with your favourite herb has never been easier when you buy a Capsule machine. You can then be sure that the capsules you are taking are 100% pure ingredients without fillers added by some companies.

Our Chaga powder is a ready to eat powder and can be added to water. Suggested dosage range is 1-2g per day. It is recommended that the powder is added to a large glass of water (300ml) as taking the powder with water increases effectiveness.

Manufacture Process

Indigo Herbs Chaga Powder is harvested from Chaga conks (the piece of fungal matter exposed on the trunk or tree branch) found within the Scottish Highlands from Birch trees that only have a mature Chaga fungus growing on them. The Chaga mushroom grows high up on the Birch tree, and is harvested in spring and summer. The mushroom absorbs the nutrients and compounds from the tree and makes it more available to humans. Chaga lives in a symbiotic relationship with the birch tree. The experienced fungus expert will break off the Chaga conk with his/her hand and taken back to be prepared for drying. If there is no sun available then the Chaga is usually dehydrated at a temperature no less than 40.5°C. The drying process is done as quickly as possible to insure that no other bacteria or fungus can grow on the Chaga matter. The pure fungus is then ready to be broken and finely milled up to make Chaga Powder.

There are no known side effects to date from consuming Chaga.
