My favourite oil of all. For those like me who must live in ketosis, this oil is wholly compatible with a ketogenic diet and , for me anyway, is very well tolerated and hugely beneficial for GI tract health, key vitamin absorption and general wellbeing. Top notch oil.

Flax seed - rich in mono-unsaturated fatty acids: plant sourced omega-3 essential fatty acids such as α -linolenic acid (ALA). A Mediterranean diet that is rich in fibre, mono-unsaturated fatty acids, and omega-3 fatty acids help to prevent coronary artery disease and stroke risks through a healthy blood lipid profile. Flax seeds have botanical sourced omega-3 fatty acids. One spoonful of flax seed oil provides about 8 g of omega-3 fatty acids. These seeds contain lignans, a phytoestrogens considered to have antioxidant and cancer-preventing properties. Also,flax is a source of vitamin-E, especially rich in gamma-tocopherol; containing about 20 g (133% of daily recommended values) per 100 g. vitamin-E is a powerful lipid soluble antioxidant, required for maintaining the integrity of mucosa and skin by protecting it from harmful oxygen-free radicals. The seeds have: riboflavin, niacin, thiamin, pantothenic acid, vitamin B-6, and folates. Thiamin assists in carbohydrate metabolism. Also, flaxseed is a rich source of minerals such as manganese, potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc and selenium and, flax or linseed oil has a deliciously nutty flavour.
