Honeybush Products

The Honeybush is indigenous to South Africa and takes its name from its distinctive deep yellow, honey scented flowers and sweet smelling leaves. Honeybush tea is rich in antioxidants whilst being lower in tannins than traditional black teas, meaning it can steep for longer without becoming bitter. It is common in rural areas of South Africa to keep a pot of Honeybush tea simmering on the stove all day - both for drinking and to scent the home. Honeybush tea has a full-bodied, sweet flavour with woody undertones, is caffeine free and has been drunk for millennia in its native South Africa for its many benefits.

Honeybush Tea can be made into a hot drink by infusing the herb in a teapot or cafetiere with boiling water. Use 1 cup of boiling water per person. Let the tea brew for 5 - 15 minutes. Strain the leaves and enjoy.

Prepare a cup or pot of tea by putting 1 teaspoon of leaf per person. Add honey or milk if preferred.

Indigo Herbs Honeybush Tea comes from plants grown under strict supervision and soil checked regularly for heavy metals and toxins. When this perennial is at peak maturity the leaves are separated from the root and air dried in the shade so none of the chemical constituents are destroyed by the sun. The leaf cut is then tested again for any pollutants before being shipped. This process complies with GMP standards and has the Indigo Herbs seal of approval.
