Icelandic Moss Products
Iceland Moss has a long history of use as both a food and medicine in Europe, Canada and North America. This polysaccharide rich lichen grows abundantly on the Icelandic lava fields – hence its name, however it will also grow in alpine areas of the Northern Hemisphere.
Iceland Moss is classed as a cooling herb and has been used for centuries in folk medicine for it properties as an expectorant. It was extensively used by the Icelandic people in breads, porridge, soup and even candy!
