Thyme: Avoid in the conditions of epilepsy, pregnancy and high blood pressure.
Peppermint: None known. However if you are taking homeopathic remedies Peppermint is contraindicated as it negates their action.
Sage: The herb should be avoided during pregnancy because it is a uterine stimulant.
Marshmallow: Because it coats the lining of the stomach, marshmallow may interfere with the absorption of other drugs or herbs. For this reason, it is important to take marshmallow several hours before or after taking other herbs or medications.
Ginger: High doses should be avoided if the stomach is already hot and over-stimulated, as in peptic ulceration. It should be used with care in early pregnancy, although it can be safely taken in small doses (1g dried root) for morning sickness.
Cloves: None known
