Just as its name suggests, Lady’s Mantle is a potent women’s herb whose botanical name “Alchemilla” is derived from the word “alchemy”. The droplets of water that formed on its leaves were thought to be the purest form of water – so pure that it could be used to produce the Philosopher’s Stone.

Lady's Mantle is an attractive perennial plant, its soft gray-green foliage is semi-round with scalloped-shaped leaves. In late spring and early summer, the plant produces nearly inconspicuous chartreuse (yellow-green) blooms. With a long history of traditional use, the leaves and flowers are used in herbalism for all manner of women's issues.

Lady's Mantle Powder can be added to smoothies, encapsulated or mixed with a little water or juice.

A typical dosage of Lady's Mantle is ½g- 1g of powdered bark up to three times per day.

The plants used to make Indigo Herbs Lady's Mantle Powder are harvested at peak potency.  After the best leaves have been selected they are freeze dried before being milled into a fine powder. The Lady's Mantle Powder is then tested for heavy metals and toxins before being shipped.

Infuse 1-2 teaspoons of Lady's Mantle tea per cup of boiling hot water. Let the tea brew for 5 - 15 minutes. Strain and enjoy up to 3 times per day.

Lady's Mantle Tea is made from the very best examples of Lady's Mantle leaves dried and cut for loose leaf tea. This process is generally a simple one where the leaves are harvested and selected for quality before they are dried in shade. When nearly all of the moisture has evaporated from the leaves there is another selection process before they are cut to size for loose leaf tea. The Lady's Mantle Tea is then tested for foreign chemical profiles before being made ready for shipment.

Post Natal Tea 50g from Indigo Herbs has been created to add a helping hand after child birth. The selected ingredients have been blended to bring positivity, calmness and harmony while you inwardly rejuvenate and rebalance. You can expect green flavours coming from the raspberry leaf and moringa leaf, while marigold and chamomile add a floral element. There are earthy tastes as well, coming from the oat straw (avena sativa) and lady's mantle. Then there's a very slight fruity element from the schisandra.

  • Grab a teapot, a cafetiere or your tea making equipment of choice.
  • Scoop 1 -2 teaspoons of herbal and the same for each of your friends into a pot and add boiling water.
  • 3 cup tea pot = 3 / 6 teaspoons of herbal tea.
  • Let the tea infuse for 15 minutes.
  • Simply pour the brewed tea into cups and serve.
  • Breathe, sip your tea and relax

Contraindications:

Chamomile: Chamomile is part of the Asteraceae plant family, which includes ragweed and chrysanthemum, so people with allergies may react when they use chamomile either internally or topically. Call your doctor if you experience vomiting, skin irritation, allergic reactions (chest tightness, wheezing, hives, rash, itching) after chamomile use.

Chamomile contains coumarin, a naturally-occurring compound with anticoagulant or blood-thinning effects. It should not be combined with warfarin or other medications or supplements that have the same effect or be used by people with bleeding disorders. It shouldn't be used two weeks before or after surgery.

Raspberry Leaf: None known however Raspberry leaf may cause mild loosening of stools and nausea.

Oat Straw (Avena sativa): None known, however proceed with caution if sensitive to gluten (coeliac disease).

Moringa: Those with a sensitive stomach should use sparingly as Moringa adds heat to the stomach.

Marigold: Except for the very rare person who is allergic to calendula and therefore should not use it, there are no known side effects or interactions. Not recommended during pregnancy.

Schisandra: Average doses of herbal preparations are considered safe and nontoxic. Mild side effects may include indigestion and skin rash. Schisandra may promote contractions of the uterine muscles and thus should not be used by pregnant women. Do not take Schisandra if you suffer from epilepsy (seizures, uncontrollable shaking).
