  • Although the name suggests a link to the citrus family, Lime flowers are actually the flower of the Linden Tree and as such have a clean, floral flavour rather than the sharp citrus notes that some expect. Perfect for first thing in the morning the clean, delicate flavour of Lime Flower will gently wash away the fog of the night and set you up for the day ahead.
  • The low tannin levels of Lime Flowers also make this a very good after dinner tea as high tannin is thought to inhibit protein digestibility.

Taking herbal remedies in a Tincture or Fluid extract preparation is simple and easy. The tincture can be measured out in a small ml measuring cup, medicine cup or spoon, and the tincture can be taken directly.

However some people do find the bitter tincture taste to be too strong, so it may be a good idea to dilute the drops in water or fruit juice. For children, the elderly, those with a sensitive constitution or those avoiding alcohol, the alcohol can be evaporated from the tincture. This can be done by putting the drops in boiling water and leaving for 10 minutes to evaporate. For full instructions go to our How to take Herbal Tincture page.

Lime Flower Tincture can be added to water or fruit juice and taken when required.

Traditionally Taken: 2-3ml taken 2-3 times per day, or as directed by a Herbal Practitioner.

20 drops from the glass dropper equals approximately 1ml.

The Lime Flowers used to make Indigo Herbs Lime Flowers Tincture undergo stringent checks to ensure all of the flowers develop to their fullest potential whilst adhering to exceptionally high quality standards. After careful selection and cleaning the plant material undergoes a process of cold percolation in order to extract the active constituents into tincture form. The cold percolation method employs a gradient circulation of the solution which keeps the plant ingredients in perpetual contact with the ethanol. This technique is faster and more efficient than maceration and ensures there is less waste of precious plant materials. This premium quality product is manufactured to GMP standards and Quality Assured by Indigo Herbs. It is 100% pure botanical ingredients, completely free of synthetic ingredients with absolutely nothing added.

Not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding mothers. If you are taking prescription medications for heart problems, please consult your healthcare professional before using Lime Flowers Tincture.

Making a delicious cup of tea with loose leaf herbs is simple and easy. Brewing loose leaves is a traditional art with many different styles and varying items of tea brewing equipment on the market. There are one cup teaballs that can be filled with loose leaves, flowers, and barks and submerged straight into a boiling cup of hot water and then left to infuse. The rule of thumb with brewing loose leaves is to allow them to fully release their beneficial aromatic phyto-chemical content.

This process is lovingly called brewing and takes 5-10 minutes so a tea cosy is recommended if you are using a pot. When making a pot of tea it is advised that you use one teaspoon of loose leaf tea per person and one for the pot. Any true tea maker who truly appreciates the art would recommend heating the pot first, and of course when the tea is fully infused it is absolutely necessary that the drinker sits down and takes a minute to enjoy! For full instructions go to our How to make Herbal Tea Page.

Lime Flowers Tea can be made into a delicious hot drink by decocting the Lime Flowers into boiling water. Use 1-2 teaspoons per cup of boiling water and steep for 3-10 minutes depending on taste. Then strain and serve.

Serving:

1-2 teaspoons of Lime Flowers per 1 cup of boiling water, 3 times a day

The flowers that are used for Indigo Herbs Lime Flowers Tea come from plants that are grown specifically for the use as tea. Cultivated in close proximity, the Lime Flowers reach maturity before they can be cut and dried in semi shade. Only the best prime examples of the Lime Flowers are used in our tea. The plant matter is then slow dried out of direct sunlight and tested for pollutants before being made ready for shipping.

Not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding mothers. If you are taking prescription medications for heart problems, please consult your healthcare professional before consuming Lime Flowers.

Good to do business with you
I am impressed and grateful that my echinacea bottles come wrapped in a corrugated cardboard and no longer bubble wrap which is very bad for the environment. If you can do it Indigo then other companies should be able to follow your example. Well done you. My order arrived very quickly and I placed my order on the phone with a friendly efficient member of staff.
