Manufacture Process
Organic Bee Pollen is harvested between April and May, after the rains have finished but before the summer when the bees stop collecting Bee Pollen. The collection method consists of a fine mesh connected to the hive main entrance which disconnects large chunks pollen that has collected on the legs of the bees which falls into a collection box. The pollen is only collected for 3-4 days each week and only for a period no longer than 4-5 weeks. This leaves the bees an abundant amount of pollen for them to eat without detracting from their essential reserves for the winter. The Pollen is then dried in special air dyers at a temperature no higher than 45ºC. Drying at this temperature insures that the nutritional quality of the pollen is not reduced by the use of irradiation and sterilization. Quality checks are made through sieving and then by human eye by experts to guarantee that there are absolutely no pollutants in Indigo Herbs Bee Pollen. Each batch can be traced back to each hive so that problems can be sorted out immediately. Our supplier takes great pride in the quality of this pollen.
