Flourishing in tropical parts of South America and Asia, Pata de Vaca is a small tree that grows between 5 – 9 metres tall with leaves that bear a startling resemblance to a cow’s hoof. The Brazilian name “Pata de Vaca” literally translates as “cow’s foot”. Holding an esteemed place in Brazilian Herbal Medicine with a multitude of uses, Pata de Vaca has been traditionally used as a diuretic, a blood cleanser and purifying herb for centuries.
