Prickly Ash

The name Prickly Ash is a little misleading; this large shrub is actually a part of the citrus family with relatives closer to the orange rather than Ash trees. Prickly Ash can be used topically and is often used as an ingredient when making bitters. North American in origin, the wood is too soft for timber and has been tinctured since at least the 17th century. Other names for this plant are Szechuan Pepper, Yellow Wood and tooth ache tree. Prickly Ash Bark Tincture can be added to water or fruit juice and taken when required.

Traditionally Taken: 2-3ml taken 2-3 times per day, or as directed by a Herbal Practitioner.
