Star Anise 50g from Indigo Herbs is a traditional spice that has a very intriguing shape and a flavour similar to liquorice and aniseed. You can use this spice to flavour hot drinks and other foods. Both the pod and casing retain flavour and can be cooked in curries and chai. Add a bit of that spicy kick to your dishes.

Use in baking and curries and even sweet bread. Can also be used as a spice in making chai.
Star Anise is simple to harvest - When the pods are picked they are more of a rounded shape. They are then sun dried and start to form their star shape. As the star pods change colour, they start to open and reveal the seed. There's then a process of sorting to make sure that the pods aren't damaged or have any foreign material in them.
