Starflower is a pretty flowering herb that is also known as "Borage" or "Bee Plant" because its vibrant blue/purple star shaped flower attract the bees throughout the summer. It is native to the Mediterranean, Asia Minor and the wild highlands of Eastern Europe where it has been cultivated for thousands of years for its culinary and medicinal uses.

The oil (known as Borage or Starflower oil) is commonly extracted from the seeds, and is rich in the essential fatty acid γ-linolenic acid (GLA). Linolenic acid is an omega-6 fatty acid that plays a vital role in the restoration of joint health, immunity and healthy skin. Starflower

Infuse the Borage Leaf Tea in boiling water. Use 1 cup of boiling water per person. Let the tea brew for 5 - 15 minutes. Strain and enjoy.

Serving:

Take 1-2 teaspoons of the herb per cup of boiling hot water. Do not exceed 2 cups of Borage Leaf Tea per day.

Contraindications:

Not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Excessive consumption of this tea is not recommended as it can be damaging to the liver - up to 2 cups per day.

Borage Leaf Tea is made from the very best examples of Borage leaves dried and cut for loose leaf tea. This process is generally a simple one where the leaves are harvested and selected for quality before they are dried in shade. When nearly all of the moisture has evaporated from the leaves there is another selection process before they are cut to size for loose leaf tea.
