Taking herbal remedies in a Tincture or Fluid extract preparation is simple and easy. The tincture can be measured out into the small ml measuring cup that comes with each bottle. (A medicine cup or spoon could also be used) and the tincture can be taken directly.

However some people do find the bitter tincture taste to be too strong, so it may be a good idea to dilute the drops in water or fruit juice. For children, the elderly, those with a sensitive constitution or those avoiding alcohol, the alcohol can be evaporated from the tincture. This can be done by putting the drops in boiling water and leaving for 10 minutes to evaporate. For full instructions go to our How to take Herbal Tincture page.

Ashwagandha Tincture can be added to water or fruit juice.

Daily serving:
Ashwaganda Tincture:
Traditionally Taken: 2-3ml taken 2-3 times per day.
or as directed by a Herbal or Ayurvedic practitioner.

20 drops from the glass dropper equals approximately 1ml.

  • Produced to GMP standards
  • Quality Assured by Indigo Herbs.
  • Suitable for vegetarians and vegans
  • 100% pure botanical ingredients, absolutely nothing added.
  • Packaged in a pharmacopeial grade brown glass bottle with dropper.

This botanical ingredient has been carefully selected, dried and then processed into a tincture. This tincture is made from the whole plant. The botanical ingredient  can be traced back to the growers at source. It is farmed sustainably and ethically in a farming co-operative in India. It is then manufactured in the UK to the highest medicinal GMP (Good manufacturing practice) and pharmacopeia standards for safety and efficacy.

Do not take if congested. No significant side effects have been reported with Ashwagandha. The herb has been used safely by children in India. Do not take during pregnancy and lactation.

This, along with other tintures that I take, at least as far as I am concerned, have kept me healthy. I haven't had a coughor cold, much less the flu in absolute years!

A trusted source shared with me a three month ashwagandha trauma release process, which requires a small daily dose of the extract. I am only three weeks in and I'm noticing that my dreams are different. Far more emotional, heavy, thick. A few times I have woken up completely rattled, even though I wasn't having a nightmare. The source confirmed that trauma release happens during the dream-time, when taking ashwagandha. So the product is, in my view, excellent as it is doing what it's meant to. Shipping to Germany was also fast and everything went absolutely flawless. Thank you for this service and product.

I only received my package yesterday, so it is too early to review the products properly. I can only say that I took them yesterday and today without any ill effects and shall continue to do so. Service is good and prompt, however, I would like to be able to track the parcels en route so that I have a better idea of when they arrive.

Little did I know that it is most likely the stress response that's at the root of my hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating). Since taking ashwaganda, I am sweating much less than usual, I am sleeping better and without night sweats, and I am calmer during the day. I have also recently started combining Ashwagandha with Rhodiola and Schisandra for a combi punch to the face of stress, fatigue, recovery time after exercise and challenging emotional times. I am well impressed with this product. It's potent and totally works; in unexpected ways for some.

I'm still trying it out so don't feel able to comment on the effects yet. But the taste isn't nearly as bad as stated and I can take it without having to dilute it. I probably put my comment about the dropper bottle in the wrong place. I feel it could be improved as I'm finding the dose measurement imprecise because the lines on the small plastic cup are very faint. Would it be possible either to make the lines more distinct, or better still have marks on the actual dropper to show the dose?

Making a delicious cup of tea with loose leaf herbs is simple and easy. Brewing loose leaves is a traditional art with many different styles and varying items of tea brewing equipment on the market. There are one cup teaballs that can be filled with loose leaves, flowers, and barks and submerged straight into a boiling cup of hot water and then left to infuse. The rule of thumb with brewing loose leaves is to allow them to fully release their beneficial aromatic phyto-chemical content.

This process is lovingly called brewing and takes 5-10 minutes so a tea cosy is recommended if you are using a pot. When making a pot of tea it is advised that you use one teaspoon of loose leaf tea per person and one for the pot. Any true tea maker who truly appreciates the art would recommend heating the pot first, and of course when the tea is fully infused it is absolutely necessary that the drinker sits down and takes a minute to enjoy! For full instructions go to our How to make Herbal Tea Page.

To make a tea decoction from this Astragalus root add 1 - 5 teaspoons of dried root to a pan and boil in 300ml - 350ml of water on a stove for 3 - 4 minutes. Strain into a mug and serve

Serving:

1g - 5g, two or three times per day.

1 teaspoon equals 1 gram (1 tsp = 1g)
  • Produced to GMP standards.
  • Quality Assured by Indigo Herbs.
  • Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
  • Re-sealable air tight, foil pouch.
  • 100% pure botanical ingredients, absolutely nothing added.

Manufacture Process

After 5 years of growth the roots of the Astragalus plants are mature and ready for harvest. Indigo Herbs Astragalus roots are harvested and identified by plant experts before the leaves and small stem parts stripped away leaving only the root. Only the best prime examples of the root are used in our Astragalus Root Tea. Damaged or underdeveloped roots are discarded through a process of elimination. The best root matter is then slow dried out of direct sunlight and tested for pollutants to make sure that you get only the very finest root for your tea. This ensures that the plant is of pharmacoepial grade and is good for purpose.

Using Herbal and Superfood powders on a daily basis is simple, easy and can be really delicious. The simplest way is to rehydrate the powder in a little filtered water to make a shot, this can easily be prepared once, twice or three times per day if you are taking the herbs therapeutically. However sometimes the herbs can be bitter so the botanical powders can be added to a superfood smoothie instead of just water. The smoothie can be made with a base of nut milk, seed milk or non-dairy milk such as rice milk. Alternatively the main body of the smoothie can be created with fruit or vegetable juices.

Additional superfood and herb powders can be added to fortify the smoothie with extra beneficial properties. The powders are largely dissolvable and can be scooped in and then blended, shaken or stirred until fully mixed with the liquid. Any true Superfood smoothie disciple would advise that the list of possibilities is endless with the goal to feel great and potentially replace a meal with this glass of super goodness. For full instructions go to our How to take Herbal Powders page.

Another option is to use a Capsule Machine that can be bought from the Indigo Herbs website. Filling capsules with your favourite herb has never been easier when you buy a Capsule machine. You can then be sure that the capsules you are taking are 100% pure ingredients without fillers added by some companies.

This Astragalus Powder can be re-hydrated in water or fruit juice, it can be encapsulated or added to a herbal powder blend. Please consult the Herbal Materia Medica or Medical Herbalist for this botanical ingredients uses.

Serving:

1-4 teaspoons up to 3 times per day.

This whole and pure Astragalus powder has been made from the finest quality grade Astragalus root. The plants have been grown to full maturity making sure the root is fully formed and at peak potency. After they have been dug up all roots are cleaned and inspected upon drying. After dehydration is complete. the roots are milled into a fine powder and tested for compliance with EU regulation.

After this general inspection the best quality flowers and stem are put out to slow dry out of the sun. After drying there is another screening process to ensure that only the premium quality dried flowers and small stem are packed for shipping. All batches are tested for foreign toxins and heavy metals. This process complies with GMP standards and is quality assured by Indigo Herbs.

The botanical ingredients can be made into a herbal tea by infusing the herb in boiling water. Use 1 cup of boiling water per person. Let the tea brew for 5 - 15 minutes. Or alternatively; 1/2 cup of flowers to 2 liters of hot water to add to the bath tub.

Serving:

1-2 tsp Chamomile flowers per 1 cup of boiling water up to 3 times a day

1 teaspoon equals 0.65 grams (1 tsp = 0.65g)
  • Produced to GMP standards.
  • Quality Assured by Indigo Herbs.
  • Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
  • Re-sealable air tight, foil pouch.
  • 100% pure botanical ingredients, absolutely nothing added.

Manufacture Process

Indigo Herbs Chamomile Tea is made from the very best flowers, grown specifically for the purpose of making herbal tea. Chamomile is part of the Asteraceae plant family, which includes ragweed and chrysanthemum, so people with allergies may react when they use chamomile either internally or topically. Chamomile should not be taken during pregnancy or breast-feeding.Chamomile contains coumarin, a naturally-occurring compound with anticoagulant or blood-thinning effects. It should not be combined with warfarin or other medications or supplements that have the same effect or be used by people with bleeding disorders. It shouldn't be used two weeks before or after surgery.

I am not normally somebody who really likes chamomile, but have to admit that the quality is great, sometimes dried herbs smell dusty or old, but that's definitely not the case with the indigo herbs chamomile. Also, thumbs up for the packaging.

Manufacture Process

Only the best prime examples of the flowers are used in our Chamomile Tincture. Damaged or underdeveloped flowers are discarded through a process of elimination. The Chamomile flower then undergoes a process of cold percolation in order to extract the active constituents into tincture form. The cold percolation method employs a gradient circulation of the solution which keeps the plant ingredients in perpetual contact with the ethanol. This technique is faster and more efficient than maceration and ensures there is less waste of precious plant materials. This premium quality product is manufactured to GMP standards and Quality Assured by Indigo Herbs. It is 100% pure botanical ingredients, completely free of synthetic ingredients with absolutely nothing added.

Indigo Herbs Damiana leaf tea can be taken 3 times a day as suggested below

Serving:
1-2 teaspoon of cut herb / 1 cup of boiling water, infuse for 10-15 minutes.

1 teaspoon equals 0.50g (1 tsp = 0.50g)

The Damiana plant is prevalent throughout the arid hot sandy environs of Mexico. Indigo Herbs Damiana leaf Tea comes from high quality Damiana leaves that are usually harvested during flowering and are set out to be air dried until they turn a golden yellow colour.

After selection of the best individual dried leaf there is an inspection to guarantee there are no other constituents or pollutants on the plant material. This product is traditionally wild crafted since Damiana seed is very difficult to propagate in controlled environments. To make sure that all chemical constituents remain intact, this pure leaf has not been heat treated in any way.

The leaves have a minor laxative effect and may cause loosening of the stools at higher amounts. Until more is known about Damiana's effects on the female hormonal system, it should be avoided during pregnancy.

I first tried Damiana about 50 years ago in the form of home made wine made by my father. At the time I believed it was responsible for clearing up my teenage acne and making me feel more awake. However, half a century on, as a fit and healthy pensioner I can state that having consumed the 100g pack in the form of cups of tea it has had absolutely no beneficial effect whatsoever. There have been no physiological changes detectable. It was reasonably pleasant to drink but I shall not be looking to buy any more. P.S. The speed of delivery was impressive - less than 24hrs from placing online order.

This powder can be added to hot water to take as a tea, mixed with juice or in a smoothy.

Serving: 1-3 grams daily. It is suggested not to exceed the maximum of 3 grams.

1 teaspoon equals 1 gram (1 tsp = 1g)

Manufacture Process

Indigo Herbs Damiana powder has been dehydrated at a low temperature of less than 34 degrees, to allow slow evaporation of almost all of the water, and to preserve all the nutritional content. This botanical ingredient has been carefully selected, dried and finely milled into powder, maintaining the naturally-occurring constituents found in the plant. Quality Assured to Indigo Herbs Excellent Standards. This product is 100% pure botanical ingredients, completely free of synthetic ingredients with absolutely nothing added. It is manufactured to GMP standards.

The leaves have a minor laxative effect and may cause loosening of the stools at higher amounts. Until more is known about Damiana's effects on the female hormonal system, it should be avoided during pregnancy.

Also known as: Maiden Hair, Fossil Tree, Ginkgo Folium, Japanese Silver Apricot, Noyer du Japon, Pei Go Su Ye, Salisburia Adiantifolia, Yen Xing, Yinhsing, Bai Guo.

Ginkgo Powder is best used with boiling hot water and made into a hot drink. Equally it can be mixed into cold liquid such as water or fruit juice.

Serving: Use up to 2-5 grams, up to twice a day. If using Ginkgo Biloba Powder for the first time it is always advisable to gradually increase quantity of powder to avoid symptoms of de-toxification.

Great service
The product arrived very quickly and does what it says. The Echinacea tea is great. The bearberry tea I bought in the past did the job too.

Best tinctures!!
Purchased their tinctures when they started up & have stayed with them ever since! They have always offered high quality products, excellent customer service, p&p and discounts. I was also impressed with their extensive knowledge of the plants, herbs etc and grateful for the well written summaries of each on their website. Over the years they have expanded to provide fresh raw foods, ingredients & recipes. Try the raw chocolate & nut butters..yum! My only gripe (small & picky) is that sometimes with so much to choose from the website can seem a bit chaotic to navigate. Having said that its never put me off!!
