This is a lovely way to perfume an environment and essential oils are very good at affecting the mood, mind and emotions when evaporated into the air. Additionally the neat oils can be diluted into a carrier medium. This can be a cream, body butter, face cream, vegetable body oil and bath salts to name a few. For full instructions go to our How to use Aromatherapy page.

Manufacture Process

Our essential oils are manufactured to GMP standards using steam distillation or cold pressing.

Indigo Herbs Chamomile Blue Essential Oil is extracted using the "steam distillation" method. In this process the botanical material is placed in a still and steam is forced over the material. The hot steam helps to release the aromatic molecules from the plant material since the steam forces open the pockets in which the oils are kept. Molecules of the volatile oils then escape and evaporate into the steam. The temperature of the steam needs to be carefully controlled - just enough to force the plant material to let go of the essential oil, yet not too hot as to burn the plant material or the essential oil. The steam now containing the essential oil is passed through a cooling system to condense the steam which forms a liquid. The essential oil is then separated from the water and bottled, resulting in 100% pure essential oil.

Chamomile Blue Essential Oil

Essential oils need to be diluted first; never apply an essential oil directly to the skin. Avoid contact with eyes and mouth.

Taking herbs in a Tincture or Fluid extract preparation is simple and easy. The tincture can be measured out in a small ml measuring cup, medicine cup or spoon, and the tincture can be taken directly.

However some people do find the bitter tincture taste to be too strong, so it may be a good idea to dilute the drops in water or fruit juice. For children, the elderly, those with a sensitive constitution or those avoiding alcohol, the alcohol can be evaporated from the tincture. This can be done by putting the drops in boiling water and leaving for 10 minutes to evaporate. For full instructions go to our How to take Herbal Tincture page.

Manufacture Process

Only the best prime examples of the flowers are used in our Chamomile Tincture. Damaged or underdeveloped flowers are discarded through a process of elimination. The Chamomile flower then undergoes a process of cold percolation in order to extract the active constituents into tincture form. The cold percolation method employs a gradient circulation of the solution which keeps the plant ingredients in perpetual contact with the ethanol. This technique is faster and more efficient than maceration and ensures there is less waste of precious plant materials. This premium quality product is manufactured to GMP standards and Quality Assured by Indigo Herbs. It is 100% pure botanical ingredients, completely free of synthetic ingredients with absolutely nothing added.

Making a delicious cup of tea with loose leaf herbs is simple and easy. Brewing loose leaves is a traditional art with many different styles and varying items of tea brewing equipment on the market. There are one cup teaballs that can be filled with loose leaves, flowers, and barks and submerged straight into a boiling cup of hot water and then left to infuse. The rule of thumb with brewing loose leaves is to allow them to fully release their beneficial aromatic phyto-chemical content.

This process is lovingly called brewing and takes 5-10 minutes so a tea cosy is recommended if you are using a pot. When making a pot of tea it is advised that you use one teaspoon of loose leaf tea per person and one for the pot. Any true tea maker who truly appreciates the art would recommend heating the pot first, and of course when the tea is fully infused it is absolutely necessary that the drinker sits down and takes a minute to enjoy! For full instructions go to our How to make Herbal Tea Page.

Elderflower Tea can be made into a delicious hot drink by decocting the Elderflowers into boiling water. Use 1-2 teaspoons per cup of boiling water and steep for 3-10 minutes depending on taste. Then strain and serve.

Serving:

1-2 teaspoons of Elderflowers per 1 cup of boiling water, 3 times a day.

The flowers that are used for Indigo Herbs Elderflower Tea come from plants that are grown specifically for the use as tea.

Elderflower Tincture can be added to water or fruit juice and taken daily.

Traditionally Taken: 2-3ml taken 2-3 times per day, or as directed by a Herbal Practitioner.

20 drops from the glass dropper equals approximately 1ml.

The plantation of Elderflower plants used to make Indigo Herbs Elderflower Tincture undergo stringent checks to ensure all plants develop to their fullest potential whilst adhering to exceptionally high quality standards. After careful selection and cleaning the plant material undergoes a process of cold percolation in order to extract the active constituents into tincture form.

Also known as: Large fennel, sweet fennel, wild fennel, finocchio, carosella, Florence fennel.

Using Aromatherapy in your daily routine is simple, easy and can be enormously beneficial. Pure neat essential oils can be evaporated into the environment and inhaled while products that have already been diluted in an oil can be applied straight to the skin. There are lots of different ways to utilize the pure neat essential oils; these can be made into a room spray or used in an an essential oil burner/ vaporizer.

This is a lovely way to perfume an environment and essential oils are very good at affecting the mood, mind and emotions when evaporated into the air. Adding essential oils to your bath is the best way to ensure the oils are absorbed through the pores of the skin while also inhaling the vapors; maximum benefit can then be had whilst enjoying a soak. Additionally the neat oils can be diluted into a carrier medium. This can be a cream, body butter, face cream, vegetable body oil and bath salts to name a few. For full instructions go to our How to use Aromatherapy page.

Fennel essential oil can be used in the bath, or vaporized in an oil burner. It can be added to a massage oil or cream. Use 6-8 drops per bath and 10 -18 drops per 30ml of carrier oil. See Essential Oil Dosage Chart

Blends well with; basil, bergamot, geranium, lavender, lemon, rosemary and sandalwood essential oils.

  • Produced to GMP standards.
  • Quality Assured by Indigo Herbs.
  • 100% pure botanical ingredients, absolutely nothing added.
  • Bottled in a pharmacoepial grade brown glass bottle.

Manufacture Process

Our essential oils are manufactured to GMP standards using steam distillation or cold pressing.

Indigo Herbs Fennel Essential Oil is extracted using the "steam distillation" method.

Pure Fennel Essential Oil

Essential oils need to be diluted first; never apply an essential oil directly to the skin. Avoid contact with eyes and mouth. Rosemary should be avoided during pregnancy because it is a uterine stimulant. Excessive amounts can cause symptoms of poisoning. It should also be avoided by epileptics.
