Swedish Bitters Products

Swedish Bitters Products

Swedish Bitters is a traditional herbal tonic blend, the use of which dates back to the 15th century to Swiss physician & alchemist Paracelsus. The modern formulation was rediscovered and formally labelled as Swedish Bitters by Swedish medics in the 18th century, with many modern herbalists claiming it to be a cure for a large number of ailments. A bountiful blend of high quality herbs are expertly selected, and extracted into alcohol. Wormwood, Myrrh Gum, Manna Ash, Senna Leaf, Rhubarb Root, Synthetic Camphor, Angelica Root, Dwarf Carline Thistle Root, Zedoary Root and Theriac (a blend of Angelica Root, Calamus Root, Valerian Root, Zedoary Root, Cardamom, Cinnamon, Myrrh & Black Cohosh Root) are all perfectly balanced in this tonic. Indigo Herbs is delighted to offer our new Swedish Bitters Tincture which harnesses the power of these potent herbs in easy to take tincture form.

Also known as: Swedish Tincture

Taking herbs in a Tincture or Fluid extract preparation is simple and easy. The tincture can be measured out in a small ml measuring cup, medicine cup or spoon, and the tincture can be taken directly.

However some people do find the bitter tincture taste to be too strong, so it may be a good idea to dilute the drops in water or fruit juice. For children, the elderly, those with a sensitive constitution or those avoiding alcohol, the alcohol can be evaporated from the tincture. This can be done by putting the drops in boiling water and leaving for 10 minutes to evaporate. For full instructions go to our How to take Herbal Tincture page.

Swedish Bitters Tincture can be added to water or fruit juice and taken when required.

Traditionally Taken: 2-3ml taken 2-3 times per day, or as directed by a Herbal Practitioner.

20 drops from the glass dropper equals approximately 1ml.

After careful harvesting, selection and cleaning the plants used to make this Swedish Bitters Tincture undergo a process of cold percolation in order to extract the active constituents into tincture form. The cold percolation method employs a gradient circulation of the solution which keeps the plant ingredients in perpetual contact with the ethanol. This technique is faster and more efficient than maceration and ensures there is less waste of precious plant materials. This premium quality product is manufactured to GMP standards and Quality Assured by Indigo Herbs. It is 100% pure botanical ingredients, completely free of synthetic ingredients with absolutely nothing added.

Ah, now this product is amazing. I have been a user of Bitters for years, and can really recommend the balanced effect of this blend. Personally, I take this about 10 mins before a meal to alleviate that feeling of stagnation that can ensue after a long winter, so as to relieve liver congestion and improve general flow. This is definitely a product to keep in to maintain robust health.👏

I adore Indigo Herbs
I adore Indigo Herbs! I'm a hedge witch and Doula and use lots of herbal goodies. I can buy almost everything I need (that I can't find by foraging) and to my great delight, cacao paste at a fabulous price, which I use medicinally. I needed to buy horseradish root and turmeric root recently to make fire cider and I was disappointed that IH don't supply things like this. If you read this IH perhaps you could consider it? Thank you.
