Xylitol Products

Xylitol is a naturally occurring sugar alcohol found in most plant material, including many fruits and vegetables. Although the word “alcohol” is part of its name, it’s not the same alcohol that makes you drunk. It has gained popularity as a natural sugar substitute as it has fewer calories (around 40% less than regular sugar). It also has a low glycaemic index and contains no fructose so it has a neglible effect on blood sugar and insulin.

Indigo Herbs is delighted to off Organic Xylitol. This natural sugar alternative can be used at a 1:1 ratio in beverages, baking and other sweet treats.

Indigo Herbs Xylitol Powder is derived from the bark of birch trees. The Xylitol is extracted using a natural ion exchange interaction of hydrogen, sulfuric acid and steam. The resulting crystilline white powder is then tested for pollutants and heavy metals before being made ready for shipping.

Some people experience digestive side effects when they consume too much. Xylitol is highly toxic to dogs - do not feed your dog anything containing this sweetener.
