Yarrow is a flowering plant in the family Asteraceae and is native to temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere in Asia, Europe, and North America. With pretty creamy white flowers, this ancient healing herb has a history stretching back at least 60,000 years as a medicinal and culinary plant. It was a favourite among the Native Americans who used it to relieve pain and inflammation. The Teton Dakota people called it "medicine for the wounded", and it was known as "Herba militaris" in classical times due to its extensive use on the battlefield.

Yarrow Essential Oil 10ml from Indigo Herbs is steam distilled with no solvents used in the extraction process. Yarrow essential oil can be used in the bath, or vaporized in an oil burner. It can be added to a massage oil or cream. Use 6-8 drops per bath and 10 -18 drops per 30ml of carrier oil. See Essential Oil Dosage Chart
Blends well with; valerian, oakmoss, vetivert, ylang ylang, cedar, lavender and german chamomile essential oils. It enhances the aroma of black pepper, bergamot and grapefruit essential oils.

Do not use Yarrow essential oil if you are allergic to members of the Aster family (such as daisies).
Not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women

Manufacture Process
Our essential oils are manufactured to GMP standards using steam distillation or cold pressing.
Indigo Herbs Yarrow Essential Oil is extracted using the "steam distillation" method. In this process the botanical material is placed in a still and steam is forced over the material. The hot steam helps to release the aromatic molecules from the plant material since the steam forces open the pockets

Traditionally Taken: 2-3ml taken 2-3 times per day, or as directed by a Herbal Practitioner.

Yarrow Herb Tea can be made into a hot drink by decocting the Yarrow leaves into boiling water. Use 1-2 teaspoons per cup of boiling water and steep for 5 -10 minutes depending on taste. Then strain and serve. Add your favourite natural sweetener if required.
