Yellow Dock Products

Native to Europe and Asia, Yellow Dock leaves are commonly harvested as spring greens, and the root has a long history of use in many traditional herbal systems. It is a perennial herb belonging to the Polygonaceae family, commonly referred to as the "knotweed" family. This family also includes rhubarb, buckwheat, and sorrel. Mature yellow dock stands no more than 4 feet tall and is reddish-brown in colour.

Classed as a bitter herb, Yellow Dock Root has been extensively used as a digestive aid and a general tonic for overall health and well-being. This mineral rich root is also abundant in many beneficial plant compounds known for their cleansing and calming qualities.

Indigo Herbs is delighted to offer you an extremely high quality Yellow Dock Root Tincture, harnessing the power of this herb in easy to take tincture form.

Taking herbal remedies in a Tincture or Fluid extract preparation is simple and easy. The tincture can be measured out in a small ml measuring cup, medicine cup or spoon, and the tincture can be taken directly.

However some people do find the bitter tincture taste to be too strong, so it may be a good idea to dilute the drops in water or fruit juice. For children, the elderly, those with a sensitive constitution or those avoiding alcohol, the alcohol can be evaporated from the tincture. This can be done by putting the drops in boiling water and leaving for 10 minutes to evaporate. For full instructions go to our How to take Herbal Tincture page.

Yellow Dock Root Tincture can be added to water or fruit juice and taken when required.

Traditionally Taken: 2-3ml taken 2-3 times per day, or as directed by a Herbal Practitioner.

20 drops from the glass dropper equals approximately 1ml.

After careful harvesting, selection and cleaning the Yellow Dock Root used to make this tincture undergoes a process of cold percolation in order to extract the active constituents into tincture form. The cold percolation method employs a gradient circulation of the solution which keeps the plant ingredients in perpetual contact with the ethanol. This technique is faster and more efficient than maceration and ensures there is less waste of precious plant materials. This premium quality product is manufactured to GMP standards and Quality Assured by Indigo Herbs. It is 100% pure botanical ingredients, completely free of synthetic ingredients with absolutely nothing added.

Do not exceed recommended dose - overconsumption of Yellow Dock can cause nausea, diarrhoea and stomach cramps.

Not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Please consult your healthcare practitioner if you are taking any prescription medications.

This is the only place I have found…
This is the only place I have found where I can buy a range of loose herbal teas. I've gone back to brewing tea in a pot, it's so much better. The herbs arrived quickly - only one grumble; it would be useful to have different pack sizes for the teas.
